I think it's only a matter of time until NA Twins are just as fast if not faster than NA s2000s. You have to remember, the S2000 has has 12+ years of development whereas the twins are going on just one year. I've been very impressed with what they have done so far and can't wait to see what the future holds.

Well thats just me i love both cars though
I always thought the s2k was so heavy because of its great chassis rigidity, even compared to a fixed roof car. (Don't get me started on the 86s weight for a small fixed roof car.)

Not sure how it is in AUS, but there are a lot of USDM companies (Nameless, Perrin, etc) that are offering products for the 86. This is something that was never done for the s2k, maybe due to its higher price tag & limited numbers. But then again, the same companies offered products for the STi. But the point is, the 1yr 86 already has as much aftermarket parts as the 13yr s2k.

Also, I saw a record 5 FR-S on the ride home from work yesterday.

Why people compares the S2000 with the FRS/BRZ? First of all that car was descontinued and second the base price of the S2000 was $10000 more expensive than FRS is. With that amount of money invested on after market parts on the FRS it kills for sure that thing of the past XD. PS, I love the S2000 too.

Drove the BRZ at an autox this past weekend. Realized that the BRZ is not for me & I'll wait for the BRZ STi (if it comes out).

Cheers to all the drivers that can drive the BRZ fast. :happy0180: I find that an amazing feat!!!

What's a lighter weight coupe with 200hp, RWD, LSD, 6MT that's been made in the past 10 years for $25 grand brand new?

Since I own a highly modded S2k (400hp supercharged, caged, bilsteins, etc etc) and a BRZ.. I can give some perspective here. The S2K is faster, but less stable, more likely to swap ends, rougher, and not a whole lot less practical. The cars are pretty close... I'd be more likely to jump into the S2K if it was 70 and partly cloudy, but I honestly prefer the BRZ day to day and for track duty (feels less likely to spin). And yes, my Honda lives in the garage since I got the BRZ and the battery has now gone dead.

Sounds like you just need more seat time, or balance out your suspension

I love my Ap1. But it was starting to show the effects of age, chassis flex, rattles. And ofcourse I could learn to drive better, I was simply comparing cars

The s2000 was designed and engineered as a sports car. Infused with f1 racing technology with similar ideology and racing spirit as the type r.

The BRZ is a sporty car. This means, it has a peppy engine and handles pretty well and also is spacious and has all the creature comforts from a convenience stand point.

s2000 > BRZ

and I own a brz. I can admit that the s2k is a superior platform so im no fanboy. There is was so much more thought and engineering that went into a s2000 and type r that far exceeds the limits of a brz...
