edit: I mean I agree it's not likely to be the alternator.

If there is anything but smooth, dead silence, the bearing on that wheel is blown. QFT- I have been lurking on this blower but don't have one. Not an expert with it specifically. Is the gearbox any stiffer when it's cold?

Yea it doesn't make sense. If they get squeaking from spinning the alternator pulley, then surely it's something else faulty inside the alternator......not the pulley itself since that part doesn't have any bearings and doesn't spin freely on its own.

I am the one that said I had a squeak coming from he alternator. I didnt say particulary say it was the pulley, just it was coming from the actual alternator.
I wonder if it has anything to do with running the gates blue belt. |

I think a video of the squeak would help. These blowers make a squeaking type of noise just by themselves. If you're new to twin screw blowers it is easy to mistake it for an issue when there isn't one.
Blue or standard belt won't matter since the tensioner sets the tension. |

Disagree in principle. That's just like saying different tire compounds don't matter since the car weighs the same.

I'm also quite certain it's not the blower that is squeaking. It sounds like it's coming from one of the pulleys....bit I just can't pinpoint which one is faulty.
By the way I'm using the Gates K061015 belt. |

edit: I may be incorrect about the tensioner position if it is of a constant torque type. The shorter belt may not help/matter.
