Current dilemma: Do I move to southern Maryland for a 15% raise, a "Senior" in my job title, and new and likely more interesting work? More importantly, is there even good pizza in southern MD.

I let matches burn down to my fingertips, just so I can feel something.

Same or different company?

If a different company, are you vested in your present company?

Cost of living difference in new vs present area?

Closer or further away from family? (could be a "+" or a "-")

Does your wife work out of the home?

A move for a 15% raise is iffy; new and more interesting work could be a big plus.

Titles don't mean squat anymore.

Yes, I have found good pizza in Southern Maryland.

Noone lives near me anyway
Working on finding work
Yeah, I know, that's why it's a dilemma
But it makes me feel better about my life? Also I'm pretty sure everyone there has "senior" or "chief".
Yeah, but is it world class? You don't know what I'd be leaving...

Would the 15% raise cover the cost of living increase at the new location?

How about commute time differences?

Would the job prospects be better for your wife at the new location?

Would the new company pay your relocation expenses?

State income tax at either location?

Are the employment benefits equal?

Would your present pizza supplier freeze and ship to MD?

Don't know yet on all except the last one. And that one is no. Plus it wouldn't be the same anyway.

It depends on what part of southern Maryland. Southern Maryland could mean DC Metro which is a hard no for me (I've done my time there thanks).

And as far as the pizza, well I'd be hard pressed to find any pizza "bad" so I'm sure you could find "good pizza" if that's your line in the sand.

so I assume you bought it on or near it's first release.

if so did you have to pay the dealer a premium? all the dealers FRS/BRZ were charging extra over sticker to buy.

I don't know about a dealer premium. The dealership I went to was still doing the "Scion Pure Price" thing. I paid $26,250. (yes it's an AT, the MT's were $24,999) No negotiation. (Except on my trades value) Anyway, I bought it as soon as I could get to a dealership with one. I was on my way to go look at two other FR-S, and they sold to someone else before I got there.

That's a good age - old enough to know better, but young enough to try it one more time -
