me and @gdrider77 it fits, but have to make a small custom bracket because the way its designed, it will point a bit to the sky, and to make it level with the AVO inlet, need a custom bracket. Not a big deal, any piece lf aluminum drilled will do.

^^^ this. while these reports keep on coming there is no way i would be buying this kit.

but then of course there are plenty of other folks who don't mind buying thicker gaskets and pouring RTV on top of that...
What kit are you buying?

I got one of the exhaust manifolds back that the customer was worried about - and just as discussed in another thread, the flange surfaces themselves were actually flat, it was simply that they were not on an exact flat plane to each other.

Thanks for the info. Any noticeable performance difference?

I never ran it with the stock intake. I do believe there is not much to be gained and it was more for the turbo sounds purposes.

Why does that matter? It's a legitimate question.

Really want to go AVO, but there have been too many people reporting these exhaust leaks. Leaning towards SC in the mean time until the turbo wrinkles on the 86 get ironed out

Maybe a redesigned header with thicker flanges would put people's mind at ease? If these reports are holding me back, they are probably holding others back as well...

As I mentioned in the other thread, we'll be providing new metal gaskets in all kits from now on so that people will not re-use their old gaskets. I've provided two new exhaust manifolds recently to two of the people concerned.
One that I got back was fine - there was no warpage of the flange itself, they simply were not on a flat plane to each other, which is very common with Subaru headers, but can be confusing to people only used to inline header design.
The other one, the cracking issue was caused by using thicker gaskets, but not spacing out the bracket at the turbo end, which pulled it down. Still warrantied his header even though it's been quite a while since it was installed.

I still have not had any issues. I re torqued mine after a couple hundred miles and have a few thousand on the kit now. New OEM frs gaskets with a skim of copper rtv on each side

Not sure if you have all your data and facts checked. A stock intake muffles the turbo spool and sound, and I've seen otherwise as to using other intakes with this kit.

It is of course your prerogative to purchase another kit, I don't think anyone is saying you have to buy an AVO kit specifically. Last I checked, this isn't the only kit available.

Meanwhile, in other news, do you see any of my customers have any issues? Or anyone of my installs using sealant? And pouring sounds like you already have a bias when you haven't even done one for yourself. I reckon if they did, they'd be here talking about it and not enjoying themselves like they are. Course, you could take that for what it's worth.

My 2 cents.

You are saying that the turbo spool is louder with Perrin CAI or other aftermarket intake when compared to stock aribox?
