Have you cleared the CEL? Try engaging the ESC above 3000 rpm and see if that helps the situation (not a permanent solution, but a data point towards trouble shooting). I don't know enough about the OFT to help diagnose a problem with a download.

If you can't get above 26.X VDC, the controller is in protect mode. Let it cool down and then continue to kick thr crap out of it.

Oh ya you should clear the cel.

You can do that via the diagnostic menu.

btw: the kit is awesome, the power feels really nice
Just asking to make sure you didn't miss it like I did... did you remember to plug the MAF sensor back in?

Something I missed somewhere...

What happens mechanically/electronically if I don't arm the ESC on the volt meter and still go WOT? Hopefully I won't forget, but it's possible someone else would drive my car at some point and they might forget.

Yes the sensor is plugged in. But one thing that i noticed was that the fuse that goes under the steering wheel doesn't sit flush with the rest of the oem fuse,is that normal?

Definately something is not right for the tune if you keep getting a cel. If the esc is on then the fuse is fine. Clear all cels, install stock rom, then flash back phantom tune. Maybe ask shiv to resend the tune? Maybe a mistake was made? Also triple check all connections.

I took the car to the CSCS event at Mosport yesterday. The local dealership got a bunch of us VIP passes to the event and we all went as a group. The cruise down was a ton of fun!

We got to park in the Scion VIP area (next to the track, 30-40 vehicles, almost all FR-S), and I showed off the ESC to the group. After that I just left the hood open the rest of the day so all the passers-by could check it out. It was my first event like this, so I spent most of the day wandering around checking stuff out instead of hanging out near the car, but I still spoke to quite a few people about it. The other people I was with also noted that it attracted quite a bit of attention over the course of the day.

At least 2 guys in my group are now angry with me because of the money they are going to have to spend on it.

I just had a couple interesting things happen.

Just tried to run a decent 0-60 on Torque Pro. The extra torque from the ESC certainly complicates the launch a bit. I really got on it and semi-dumped the clutch. I think I burned the tires for about 2 full seconds before taking off.

Tried a couple other 0-60 runs and couldn't get the launch right. 6.5 slightly uphill was my best time. Previous to the ESC, 6.5 slightly downhill was my best. Based on the time lost/gained running that section each direction, I'd say that my uphill one today was more like a 6.3. I would think a good launch would get into the high 5s on a flat, grippy surface, but I haven't managed it yet.

I was pulling out of a stops sign turning right into a 55mph zone with no traffic. Hit it hard and found myself spun around about 50-60 degrees. No way that happened without the ESC. Which is both good and bad. LOL.

Ok, so the arm switch is a true on/off switch for the ESC? With it off, there's no boost at all and I won't hurt anything..?

A couple questions/comments then:

1: What is the point of super pursuit mode or whatever it's called? I (apparently mistakenly) though it was an on/off for the ESC.

2: I stopped at dad's for just a couple minutes and forgot to disarm the ESC when I turned the car off. When I started back up, I threw three CELs:

U0073 - Network Electrical

P0102 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input

P0113 - Intake Air Temp Circuit High Input

The traction control light (wheels spinning out) was also back on like it was when I first started the car after install.

I disarmed the ESC, turned off the car and cleared the CELs. Restarted and the CELs were gone, as was the traction control. Everything seemed fine after that.

Would starting the car with the ESC already armed cause the CELs?

Don't you have the fuse based auto on/off?

BTW, while I haven't had much success with 0-60 times yet, I did see significant improvement in 40-60.

My best prior logged 40-60 was 2.92.

My best logged 40-60 today was 2.42.

0.5 seconds off of less than 3 seconds is pretty good, IMO.

Is that the red fuse on a wire that plugs into the fusebox? If so, yes. But then how do we explain the CELs coming back?
