If anyone decides to paint their interior pieces, tape them off before reinstalling them. It's a pain in the a$$.

Then spend the big money and buy professional instruction from a track school. Bondurant is a good way to go because the instructors are all professional drivers.

Yeah I was looking into them and evo driving school when they come back this way. NASA had instructor help as well so I'm definitely going to try them out and make sure I make the next autoX school from our region. Just trying to learn as much as possible and I am starting to level off on improvement so I'm going to have to steal some of your time at the next event.

No particular reason, those are the ones that I found that had good reviews. I'll pick your brain at the autocross about those other options, if that's ok.

I can't speak to NASA, but while our local club school is good, and we provide instruction at events, nothing can be a really good driving teacher. I have been to EVO phase one once, and phase two twice. I what to go the the next level school. The instruction is intense, very professional, and you get a crapload of seat time. In fact, the two day school is exhausting (I am sure glad Ninjin likes to run).

http://evoschool.com/

I want to go the challenge school and the data-video school.

Maybe you should go out to El Toro with Ninjin in March.

I guess I will be there for the face off event Saturday and the SCCA Autox Sunday. I am helping with course set up Saturday in exchange for seat time.

I've discovered that if there's one thing autocrossers like to talk about, it's tires.

My autocross tire experience is limited to my current set of Star Spec Z1's but I can tell you that most of what you read about them is true. They work well in cool temperatures, don't like being hot (not a huge problem for autocross, since drivers can spray water on them between runs), sidewalls are *very* stiff, and they don't make any squealing noise before they let go into a spin. The ZIIs are supposed to have the same basic characteristics, just a little bit better. More evolutionary than revolutionary, as they say.

If the Evo School is as hard on the tires as I'm expecting, then I'll probably be running a set of shiny new BFG Rivals on the 17th.
