Well hopefully something will happen for me where someone backs out of it. I should contact the dealerships in my area and let them know Ill be interested in case someone backs out.

Haha! You just need to get ready when they open the floodgates for the rest of us...its only going to be a few weeks later.

Any idea if Scion is going to do anything special for the first 86 besides early delivery or if this is just a marketing event? My dealer gave a small laugh when I asked what they would be throwing in with the car since I'm getting them one delivered before most of their competition. A special release and price break would be good marketing in my book.

My wife and friends are all in the car business (finance side). They believe that those of us that were lucky enough to be selected will be paying a premium! But the dealership where I'm getting mine, they were excited about it. Probably because of the attention they'll get. But they really didn't know much more about the whole promotion than I did. Lifetime oil changes or something like that wouldn't be so bad. I've got a feeling it will be a smile and a nice, firm handshake though!!!

Hey, I just noticed you and I are getting the same thing; Asphalt and Manual. AND, we're not too far down the road from each other!

I don't think we will be bumping into each other, but we aren't too far apart. Good choice by the way...

I'm not ready to pay a premium, so you may end up being the only first 86 asphalt/manual in our extended area if that turns out to be the case.

They really need to get us the price, standard options, and what port options we can add. I get less enthused every day.

I keep thinking the same thing, i mean im still excited but i would like to chose some options by now, i want to be able to add some things like lsd ( if possible) maybe fogs etc...but to hear nothing at all is a bit ridiculous....and if the car is over 27k i might lose interest pretty quick....lets say the car is released in may, for a manufacturer to not have a msrp 3 months before hand is a bit crazy

lol, Steve Jobs (Apple) always released the price during his Keynote on the product, which would be weeks-months earlier than release date.

And if Toyobaru did this, they would piss countless people off...

Im all about the car and dedicated to it but i would like to plan for it a little bit i mean if its 22k im getting custom volks and sticky tires right away, if its 26.5k i might roll stock for a lil bit...haha
