TB doesn't close all the way when you let off the gas and the result is teribad rev-hang.

It doesn't seem to be consistent either. Some have reported it going away after a flash, others after getting a BOV and some are still stuck with it after a flash, bov, lighter flywheel, ect..

I really liked the GC (aside from it being gigantic) but this is the one thing that killed it for me. I'd be pretty pissed off if I payed 23K + 1-2K in mods and was still stuck with a car that rev-hangs like that..

The issue is much less apparent with the 3.8's (if noticeable at all) but I was looking into the 2.0T R-spec at the time. Ended up driving quite a few of them and it was the same for every 2.0T... This was after the re-flash from Hyundai had surfaced as well.

cant wait to get all the information on the 2013 gen coupe. i cant decide on which car to get either. I said years ago i would never own a hyundai but they are very convincing these days.

I'm also stuck between the 2. I never really cared for Hyundai's either but my wife bought a new Sonata back in 06 and it hasn't had any issues. The car only has 26K miles on it in 6 years though so hopefully it keeps running like a champ.

For me I think if I fit comfortably into the FRS I will buy it over the GC no question.

I'm 6'1, 210lbs and if the room inside feels like a Celica GTS I just can't DD that car. I know the GC is bigger so if that feels more comfortable for me then I guess I'll have to buy it instead.

Short people are lucky that they don't have to factor in to their decission actually fitting into the car lol. I love my Supra because it has TONS of leg room in it. I can literally put the stock seats so far back that I can't push the clutch all the way in. Their aren't to many sports cars out their that a 6ft tall person can do that in.

I understand how you feel bud. I am 6'2, so if it doesn't have enough leg room for me to drive and not hit my knees on the steering wheel, then I won't be able to get it.

Pretty confident that us 6'1"-6'2" guys will fit (me 6'1-1/2). Just no passengers can sit behind us unless they are an infant or a double leg amputee. Ken gushi and mike@speed hunters are 5'8" and 5'9" respectively. We can maybe hit them up on where the seat was in their relation to fit. Mike and Ken looked like they had a lot of room.

Agreed no knees in the steering column for me. Mazda NA and s2000 did that to me. NC fit was good. Might try hitting up mike to see what his thoughts was.

Not sure if they have changed it but a few years ago I sat in a GC and it felt cramped (I'm 6'0). My friend who is a few inches taller then me was considering buying it, but after sitting in it he wasn't interested because he didn't fit at all. So don't assume the GC is that much roomier than the 86, wait until you get a chance to sit in both of them.

I am 6'1" and this might sound weird but I like being some what close to the wheel and pedals. I hate reaching for the wheel. Legroom isnt usually the issue for me its the headroom. It seems like the dimensions for the frs may be some what similar to my civic. With my seat in the position I like it I have to lean my head sideways...but I do have a sunroof

Thank you for all the info everyone. I can't believe how active these forms are for a car that still hasn't been released. I assume the aftermarket parts selection for these cars (FRS/BRZ) will be huge. Can't wait to get some Vendors up and running on this site. Looks like we already have several Japanese members on this forum to ship us JDM parts lol.

So what happens if the new 2.0T Genesis Coupe starts making better lap times than the FR-S/BRZ, has a better 0-60, just as good or better mpg, and costs less and has a better warranty? To me that will be a major selling point...obviously - I can only follow the phrase "driver's car" for so long; indulging in all of this speculation and hype has been great, but I want the best car for the $.

Depends on how you define the "best car"

the 2013 Genesis Coupe will be faster in a straight line, probably faster round a track (possibly not, but more than likely), They appear to come with similar equipment and at a similar price. The warranty is Superior, but build quality is debatable (I would lean towards toybaru).

The Handling on the AS1 will likely be better, though "handling feel" in a slower car is largely a subjective thing. Interior/exterior styling is also subjective.

How important a better lap time is vs looks, feel, size preference etc is tough to quantify. this car is going to have niche appeal, people who shop by magazine published performance numbers will likely take a pass on the AS1. For me, it still looks like a winner.
