I think they are sharing hybrid tech and were considering a joint venture building a hybrid Pick Up truck. (Tacoma and Ranger). But that never happened.

This could easily be misunderstood to mean that Toyota actually controls all those things. That is obviously not the case in many of these links. Even the Subaru part does not show they control it but simply they have an investment in and a connection to it.
