Most (or all) dealerships don't have the tools to check if the ECU has been tuned. If you take it in with the modified EcuTek tune, they wouldn't be able to flash over it, but if you flashed back to stock they wouldn't know. The only way they could tell that would be to disassemble the full memory of the ECU, and no one at a dealership is doing that. I bet they would have to send the ECU off to the actual manufacturer, not even a Toyota/Subaru head office.

yes, I should have clarified that if you choose the option to "borrow" the cable from sasha you would not be able to flash back to stock! But +1 for everything you said for those who are afraid of ecutek for dealer warranty reasons! |

"Hi Daniel,
I've used rom raider in the past but as previously mentioned, have run into problems so no longer use it to tune customer cars. However, feel free to let me know if you have any specific questions or have problems you need help with. I encourage "enthusiasts" to self tune as it can be fun to do once you gain a good understanding of the process. I also run a dynapack (check out my website www.definitivetuning.ca). Let me know if and when you want to come in for a few runs or some fine tuning assuming you have a tuning system running. I recommend booking at least one week in advance if you have specific dates and times in mind. Regards, Mike Ip, General Manager, Certified High Performance EFI Tuner"
