I wonder if self driving cars, once they become more prevalent, will have us loathing the car's algorithms more instead of the 'nut' holding the steering wheel...

At an intersection, waiting to turn left and this girl in a Mini Cooper behind me starts tapping her horn constantly wanting me to go. It's a busy intersection and there is clearly no room for me to go (cars continuously going through the intersection). I can see her gesturing in the mirror at me (furious that I'm not going when I clearly cannot go). I understand that I drive a large SUV and she might not be able to see the cars going through the intersection...but she can see the cars drive past on her left so...that grinds my gears.

You know RIM employees invented this text and drive crap back well over a decade ago. I got a taste of this when one of them showed me how it's done while driving on the highway.

Basically he sticks both of his hands into the dash, and while texting on the Crackberry, he steers with his arms against the inside of the upper semi-circle opening of the steering wheel.

There are definitely some common themes here!

I do wish that I could get into my car (not the BRZ of course, but something like a... Phantom...) and just push my destination, kick back and read some news and drink some coffee while the car drives itself, with me in it, to work.

We have a light rail here in Denver and I took it for a year... not totally by choice. I just don't like how it stops every 2 minutes and turns a 15 minute drive into over an hour commute each way! I DID like the stress free nature of it, but it took too damn long!

So I choose not to be involved in the conversation in the first place.

But if the door wants to open itself?!? I'm ALL FOR IT! Should be an easy modification to add that functionality to the key fob with a distance sensor so that it doesn't hit the car next to it.

That is why there is a divider between you and the driver!

I would still feel obligated to say hello and ask how he is and such.. I don't like conversation, but I do like to be courteous..

I HATE it when people walk backwards in public. maybe it's just me but I see it all the time. I'll be walking at the grociery store or whatever and I see a guy looking at a shelf or whatever and as soon as I get near him he starts backpedaling. I'm not talking a step or 2 either. several. enough to cover the more than ample space I had intended to leave between us. and of course he runs into me and is all surprised. no shit pal. YOU WERE WALKING BACKWARDS!!!

All I have to say about this is..... wtf. It's gotta be you! Or an Atlanta thing! It would probably piss me off though if it happened to me.
