shops don't throw things in that means something isn't getting done, shops don't do things for free and the profit margins on collision repairs aren't very high.

It's different when insurance pays for it.
And instead of replacing over-priced stock suspension, they are giving him aftermarket.

What suspension did you get?

OEM MSRP PRICE. That is what the insurance is going to pay out.
Aftermarket distributor price for after market is much lower.
You can figure the math out.
DTM autobody is a reputable place that has been in business for about 10 years.

If they work on exotics, cop cars, show cars, luxury cars, custom metal wide body, I think I could trust them with a 86.

I got some sts but was thinking of having them get me the kw v1s instead since they gave me a nice check as well. But i read some people saying that the difference isn't too much so i might as well just stick with the st. Theyre also giving me some spacers and the autobody is letting me keep everything they're replacing including stock suspensions (which was a little bent) rims, headlights, and whatever i point out. Really great people.

our stock struts are $127 that's not enough for coilovers, I don't care how reputable a place is anytime something is "thrown in" they aren't doing something. nobody does work for free that isn't how the business works.

Whatever dude. Obviously you've never been "hooked up" by a body shop and you don't know how high the margins are, especially for an "insurance job".

Good luck to the op. I hope your car comes out good!

I would gather I know more about the margins than you considering a run a body shop for a living, the profit margins are not where people think they are even if you work on luxury cars. the only way to hook someone up is to not do something or cut corners plain and simple.
