I don't think TSB's apply out of warranty, only a recall would.

TSB's are just bulletins on how to fix something.

Something this large though, I think Toyota/Subaru will honor it, especially if the chirping is so obvious. Not to mention, I also have the records of the "attempt" to fix my car to show them as well.

Here's something many people don't know either, Hyundai's have lifetime warranties for the original owner of the car. Do they tell everyone that? Of course not. They have to make money on extended warranties for the suckers.

Any updates OP?

Unless it's actually causing damage or is detrimental in any way other than sound, I wouldn't hold your breath for expensive replacements after warranty is up.

Crickets don't usually show up until a couple thousand miles. Mine was silent until around 1700 miles.

Hey small world, I used to live in Sarasota; occasionally return to visit family.

Anyways, please someone post the TSB when it is released, I also have a leaking timing chain cover and would like to knock as many issues out as possible in one trip..

I know, I know... just trying to give people false hope that they actually found a fix. Just kidding. No, actually mine showed up hella early. My service manager said that if I make it to 1k to give him a call.

I'd be more afraid of them fucking up something. The less your car is in the hands of a mechanic, the safer it is.
I have proven that working on my own cars.

Has anyone tried changing the fuel pump tuning on the oem ecu? I ask because I've never really had this problem since switching the the Hydra EMS. It's not a sales pitch but I painstakingly had to tune this fuel pump's dump valve, duty cycle, target pressures, and all the layers involved in that. When you get it wrong there are all kinds of naughty noises! I was almost exclusively running e-85 the whole time.

Anyways maybe someone that tunes the oem ecu could tweak the dump valve response times or even something more simple like the pressure.

Hmmmm... recently flashed ECU with OFT... I haven't had the crickets since. No change in ethanol or octane rating; E10, 92 Octane. Interesting...

*raises curious eyebrow*

I'm not a tuner but I wouldn't have imagined anything was even possible to adjust the pump, I thought it was a simple dumb pump driven from a special cam lobe.

Care to share any more insight as to how the ECU changes affect the noise?
