who cares?! As long as you mod it and drive it the way you like and the way it was meant to be driven it shouldn't matter. Just enjoy the car for what it is. That's what I plan on doing

Not saying that this is what they would do but It could be that they might have the subaru variant AWD turbo and leave the RWD toyota with a performance package option wich includes turbo wider tires etc. If the toyota is gonna be around 2,700lbs I would imagine it to be around 2,800lbs with the turbo variant! This will leave ppl with more options! They can go with a light N/A RWD platform for around $18-21k to a slightly heavier turboed one around $23-27k. Or a plaform thats more suitable for harsh weather condition with the subie wich will probiably weight in at about 3,000lbs via AWD at about $29-31k!(takes more then just 2 axles to have AWD hence the weight and price)! Best performance bargian of course being the RWD turbo ft-86 costing less $ then the subaru but lighter as well with better MPG. Though subaru will have its awd that will make it a none the less awesome rally machine with a low weight ratio compared to current competitors like the EVO!!! The ft-86 toyata could aford to have a little less hp then the subaru variant! toyota at around 240hp and subie at about 260hp will give them (about) same 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for magazine and advertisement purposes plus the bump in power for the sti version will give a better reason for the hiegher price tag! Maybee subie could sale a lesser HP variant as well! And if toyota was smart they would sell something like a TRD CAI (that does not void warranty) too bump the HP to about 260 or more, some stiffer suspension etc! That way they can make a few hundred more bucks!

CAI will not bump the car 20hp....
Maybe in a bigger less engineered engine where a CAI will highly aid the motor to breathe. But i see where you are going. And to those that are worried about posers/image, dont sweat it. WHO cares what people think. The argument that their should be an auto for the lesser version MAKES NO SENSE. The 2010 EVO MR with the SST trans is faster than the FIVE speed tranny that they offer and it is programable etc... But i do agree that they should offer 2 or 3 trim levels. S, GT, TRD or w/e And yes the more cars, the better. Its not like these things are going to sell like corolla's or camry's. They wont be everywhere. One thing that i PRAY i mean PRAY is that they offer a syncro rev option like the 370z...of course with an on/off switch. But yea, buy the car, DONT RICE IT OUT, and guess what people wont think lesser of you! |

Why? Hmmm... I dunno why did they put it in the 370z to begin with?
I can already heel toe / double clutch just fine, that's not my worry. In the city when their is a red light its not so fun to use the syncro's (wear and tear), and sometimes people get lazy and don't always want to work their mind/body 100% just to slow down and downshift at the same time. Not to be an asshole, but I did get shot in the hand and sometimes having to heel-toe requires too much thinking. It's different when pain is involved, legs twitch sometimes in unexpected ways so give me a f'n break. Sure Toyota isn't going to make it just for me, but if they can do it, guaranteed it will increase sales. Learn? seriously? Why don't you embrace the technology? I mean there is an OFF switch to push when you have time to learn the blip points/gear ratios. I mean shit carving a canyon road is fun, but sometimes it's tooo much to be alll over the place allll the time. There is a difference between work and fun. Do you see heel toe in F1? no. They dont do it, why should we? They go faster by being able to apply more pressure on the brakes, and more time thinking about the driving line vs how long to blip the throttle. Even real drivers seem to enjoy syncro rev. I have test driven a 370z and trust me the syncro rev is just fun sometimes. Plain old fun. Slowing down to a stop light with zero fuel consumption is nice too. I mean why not? Instead of asking me why, ask yourself why not. What harm is done? I know I went on a rant. I tried being as positive as possible, but your ignorance is quite unforgiving. I already know how to do most driving techniques. I went to Jim Russel Racing School when I was 15...im 20 now. The only technique they did not teach was left-foot braking. That is a fun one to learn HAHA. First time i thought i was gonna faceplant in my steering wheel lol. Sorry if I flipped bud, I just thought it would be a nice feature for a fun car.

You mean in the automatic version? I'm sure they asked "Why" because the 370z has that feature in the manual version as well. |
