On the STI Brembos all you need to do is flip the caliper upside down, take our the pipe plugs, put in new bleeders and your all set. We have them mounted on our BRZ already (I will take pics tomorrow) they work great. Car stops like a Shifter Kart.

I just get worried seeing the pic of that one red 86 in Japan with a big rusted groove in the rotor; either they installed them incorrectly or the setup just plain doesn't work. I tried contacting GReddy directly to get more info but they never replied.

Won't be a swap that I'll be considering any time soon! The stock brakes in the FR-S/BRZ are fantastic, I found out yesterday!
I wouldn't focus too much on the red car. so many things could have been done wrong. easiest explanation is they used old pads on the set up that were matched to another set of rotors. They mated to the new rotors poorly and didn't make contact in the middle...

There you have it. Confirmed.

I am 99.9% sure the Greddy car just bolted them on and has the bores backward.

Looks killer. So did you just use the rotor from an STI?

Thx! Yeah the rotors are just of the shelf DBA 4000 STI fronts. They are drilled both for 5-100 and 5-114.3.

Thanks for posting this up!

I was just going mad to choose the best price\efficiency brake setup, and you made my day!

My local brake tuning shop said it's a nightmare to get this lower plug off the Brembo Sti caliper, cause it sits on some insane glue or so... so mission impossible

but somehow you were lucky to do that! could you share this space-technology of how to screw this plug off?

It's weird for me reading that people believe the caliper with different piston bores would be functional, IT WILL NOT ! PERIOD.

Cheers. Mike

Will a 17" rim fit over these Brembo's.. due to our race rules I have to stay with 17 x 7 but I can get a better offset to keep the spokes away from the caliper??

^^ 17s should fit. from memory some of the early GBD Stis came with 17s from the factory. will need the right spoke design however.

so with the installation, you put the RHS caliper on the LHS and the LHS caliper on the RHS? what about the rear?
