I gotcha. And I do understand what I am trying to ask here. That makes total since and I figured that was the case with this car stock. Yet I figured there are powerful cars from the factory that are electronically configured to not allow the car go past a certain speed (safety reasons???).

I would think the 4.10 gear ratio would be the limiting factor in the top speed.

@Kwaziekeller answered my question. I simply wanted to know if the car was controlled by a governor. Governor simply slipped my mind as the key term. It's not controlled by one and now I feel satisfied :-)

I saw 146km/h on the main straight closed course Castrol Raceway in Edmonton Alberta. Completely stock power wise.

Otherwise I don't need any damn speeding tickets, and my WRX is way more interesting in a straight line anyway...

105 mph on the back straight at Shenandoah Circuit. I have OFT stage 1 and Perrin CBE.

It was funny because a guy with a stage 2 GTI was smoking his brakes that day, and he was telling me it's because he was making a lot of power and "hitting 105 mph" on the back straight before the hard brake zone.

At first I was trying not to say anything, but eventually I let it slip out that my underpowered Scion was around there as well.

He should have had about +70 whp on me so I was a bit surprised, but I'm guessing it's because we were exiting the preceding corner at different speeds.

my courage/fear of dying on urban highways keeps me from going above 110mph.

if my balls were bigger i'd be going 220mph on stock tune.

In fairness to Simon the sarcasm didn't come through very well on that one!
Now if he had added "while towing a boat", "while drag racing the school bus" or some other ridicules thing like that then maybe would have been clearer.

OH wait he has an FRS so unless the kid's school was like 5 miles wide there was no way he hit 121 anyway so he DID say something ridicules!
