Do you drive an Exedy Stg. 2 Clutch? Come in and share your experience.

It's preventative. I know a member who has a SS braided clutch line and he said there is a big difference on the clutch. He's coming to the Dublin meet tomorrow so I'll get more info from him. Only thing is, he is still on stock clutch.

Never mind it does not help with the issue. Just pedal feel better.

Exedy sells a Twin Disk application for this car. I owned it and drove it for less than 1000 miles. Never had any issues with gear engagement, etc. And the clamping load on that one is 2900 lbs.

There are several clutch choices for this car (CM FX400, ACT with extreme pressure plate), and none of them have a pattern of issue like this one.

I am inclined to think the clutch hydraulics are not the issue at hand.


I still hope Exedy will make this situation right as it is an OEM supplier and has always been known to be a stand up company that is 1000% behind their products. I am already $400 out of pocket for this, and there are $400 more coming when I inevitably remove this clutch. It is getting harder to get into gears every time I drive the car.

I have SS braided clutch line, no difference regarding the issue.

Sorry for my delayed presence here. My mechanic has been too backed up to take out my clutch so I haven't driven my car in three weeks. I also haven't been on the forum during that time out of mild depression. :P

I've dropped my car off this morning to have the OEM clutch reinstalled. I had spoken to Evan weeks ago and completed an RMA form, so once I have the clutch back out I'll ship it to Exedy.

I'm a little worried that he's saying the spine size appears fine, if others are seeing that it's smaller. I'd hate to incur the expense of shipping it cross-border just to be told it's fine. It's a hard fact to ignore that we have a list of people all with the same clutch and same problem.

I'm not sure why my name is down with "different brand clutch" but I have a regular Exedy Stg 2 for the record.

I haven't been keeping track of miles. Probably around 1500km but I've been babying it the whole time as it quickly started degrading after initial install, hoping it would get better. I couldn't even back into a parking spot at the shop this morning. I had to turn the car off first to get it into reverse.
