Explains how the numbers can look so odd for some of the cars.
This makes sense.
Driver "A" owns FR-S and Corolla.
There are 10 FR-S and 1000 Corolla out there.
Driver "A" gets a ticket.
It brings up FR-S percentage by 10% and Corolla percentage by 0.1%.

But if this is affecting the result that much, then BRZ should be affected more than FR-S. BRZ is #125.

lol. I'm thinking it maybe cause more "mature" drivers are more into getting a BRZ. Or maybe cause the cops do catch us being naughty much. :p

Ya that baffles me really. I know the BRZ was targeted at the older demographic (which could explain part of the reduction) I think in reality both cars are really a mix of younger and older owners.
It may be easier if we knew what the citations were for but don't have that data.

I have been pulled over on the FRS 3 times for speeding and 4 times in the Toyota pickup, but the pickup have a full built engine and very sweet exhaust note...
So I guest guns doesn't make killers.

...never been pulled over on the Talon AWD and that is the fast one

Yet the S2k is at 12.4%

I'm not sure the "it's a rarer vehicle" theory really holds.

I think we need a better look into their methodology. What if, I own a corolla, get a ticket, and then buy an FR-S. Does it now show up as a "percentage with tickets", given that I have a ticket and drive an FR-S?

Given the fact that the Topaz is ranked so high, these are very questionable conclusions.

Most of what the insurance industry does to justify their rates are VERY questionable conclusions.
However they got these numbers I have little doubt that they are well skewed in the direction they wanted and scientific method was thrown out the window. A lot of what I do relies on stats and trending and believe me it is as simple as changing one word in the question to change the results to what you want them to be.
My biggest beef with the whole thing is that it in no way assigns any weighting to the level of the citation so is almost valueless as a stat.
For example, how many of these were for dangerous driving verses a tail light out?
