Do your highways not have K rails and catch fences or concrete retainer walls?

People have heart attacks at the wheel, pass out, or fall asleep without safety barriers things get terribly messy at highway speed. A few years back we had a car leave the road on a motorway at 70mph and roll over a safety fence, down an embankment and into a fully loaded commuter train killing quite a few people. Since then all railway bridges have full high K rails or concrete retaining walls where motorways cross them.

Sorry guys I watched again and there's no drifting , only tire screeching, I was probably watching other 86 vid and got confused with other video.

I know they're a bunch of reckless inconsiderate idiots (if you wanna risk your life doing stupid things don't risk others') but its kinda interesting watching the car driven fast.

But what's scary is they didn't have a single drop of guilty look in their face and the looked like they thought it's very normal. I know sometimes I can drive like idiot but only when I know the road is clear and only for very short period of time.

These guys are treating it like they're just test driving the car at the dealer.

Idiots. Man up and take it to the track. No excuse for pushing it that hard on public roads.

That was uncalled for. Those that don't track their cars aren't a man?

Did you seriously gather those data while tracking your car? Seems to be highly dangerous reving to the rev limit, looking at your speedo, and memorizing the speed at such speed. The easier and more intelligent way would be to calculate the max speed based on gear ratios.

I do take my brz to the tracks, btw.

It is exactly as I wrote in my post. Those that push their cars to the limit on public roads need to man up and take it to the track. If you think that's uncalled for, perhaps you should do some research into fatalities and injuries caused by speed and reckless driving on the street. If you drive like that on public roads, then yes, you are an idiot.

The second part of your post is a bit comical. Why would you think I would be redlining each gear, looking at my tach/speed, and memorizing speeds per gear? The "easier and more intelligent way" (to quote language from your post) would actually be to use the data from a magazine that's tested the max speed per gear using GPS-based equipment. Which is what I did.

Okay, I just reread your post and I think I misread it. Seems like you were referring to the drivers in the video, which makes sense now. I thought you were calling those that didn't test their max speed for each gear on the track idiots, since you quoted my post while you were saying that.

Edit: I see that you updated your original post as well, which clarifies what you were referring to.

No, was referring to the drivers in the video. The reason for quoting your post was to post up for reference the max speed per gear. I was condensing two replies, but I can see the reason for your confusion. No worries.

Next up: People using facts, and common sense in responses.
Then: Human sacrifice, Dogs and cats, living together! Mass hysteria!

And that kid is a jackass.

I wouldn't call that drifting because the kid clearly has vsc on still. Grip run sure. He going about 55 in a 35 judging by trees a traffic. Very little wreckless in that video. He stays in the line most of the time. It's all shift lock on the slide and unless you pull a corner hard with vsc & holding a gear I've never gotten the car to turn hard.

That said, looks fun, they should have a spotter drive in front of them in the future.
