I have seen the logs of a couple of guys that have hi-flow cats and stock headers.

On stage 1 map they tend to run a bit lean up top and knock if not on the best quality fuel as the hi flow cat tends to make them run a bit leaner than intended.

On stage 2 map which runs a bit richer higher rpm but also runs a bit more timing advance and that can run them into a bit of knock again.

The maps just don't cater for hi-flow main cats with stock headers , so you often need to tweek it a bit or run really good fuel. I don't think it anything dangereous I am just anal about knock.

You do what you want, but shiv didn't explicitly say stage 2 is the map you should run. He said IF the car has a bunch of other exhaust mods that reduce enough restrictions then it MAY work better than stage 1.

I'd caution you to at least log to ensure you are not running into any dangerous AFR conditions/knock events. Shiv obviously knows best since these are his maps but this seems like a gigantic gray area where people need to be careful (much like running the stage 2 EL E85 maps with stock headers). Since you have the tools to log whenever you want, do yourself a favor and ensure that you are running safely even though you are outside the recommended mods for the map.

Actually, you'd probably be better off running a stage 2 EL E85 with your current setup than trying to run a stage 2 map sans header. At least that's been semi proven safe.

If you still running that Takeda/AFE intake it might be best to scale MAF for that intake on petrol stage 1 tune, then see how it goes on stage 2 then try E85.

Dont try and scale MAF when your on E85 tune

Do you have any particular reason for wanting to run a 3" Intake? Beside the fact that running aftermarket intakes typically mess with MAF readings, which means you'll need to rescale your MAF if you want it to run correctly, most (if not all) aftermarket intakes provide little to no gains over a simple drop in filter.

Save yourself some money and hassle and just get a drop in and put your stock intake back on.

One more question. I assume the device becomes locked to the car itself after syncing (otherwise several people could share one device). If someone wants to sell the OFT in the future, what's the process for decoupling or unregistering the system with the car?

all you gotta do is put your stock rom back on the ecu and it unmarries it and you can sell it.

the intake im getting made more power then the perrin intake. yes a drop in filter is just as good as a intake when the car is not tuned. tuning the car will get better results and will utilize the intake better.
