http://jdlautodesign.net/shop/ft86-u...length-header/

On the 1st graph, considering how low the stock exhaust dyno is (148whp) to the new 182, we can easily see the huge percentage gain improvement. We can't really get precise crank bhp, because it doesn't give us a completely stock baseline (the baseline here, has an fa20 tune already).

On the 2nd graph, even though it is 204whp on a Dynojet, the final crank bhp result is based on the baseline run, gives us 234 crank bhp (very similar calculated crank hp as DT’s Mustang and Maha dyno posts)
200 / 175 = 1.14 * 205 = 234 crank bhp

As you can see in the dyno chart the baseline reads just about 179 for a stock BRZ on this dyno or about 137 in heart breaker mode.

This Maha dyno too results in the same final crank bhp as the previous JDL 200whp Dynojet and the DT Mustang dynos:

200 / 137 base Maha = 1.46 * 159 DT tuned Maha = 232 crank bhp

Zach...I see that delicious tuning is located in SD, Ca. im located in El Centro Ca. about 1 hour and 30 minutes away.

my question is: can this 200whp be achieved with the tomei setup?
I have the Tomei EL headers, Tomei over pipe, Tomei titanium straight pipe and Tomei 60s exhaust. I also have the K&N intake.

I really want to keep 91 octane and stay N/A. so what do you think?

One thing I'm noticing with these tunes is that people are focusing on just exhaust... if I were to have an Injen short ram intake which says 12hp or something ludicrous like that + the HKS intake duct would I see a figure closer to 205-210whp? I drove an innovate supercharged frs a while ago with ~ that much hp and I thought it was all the hp i would ever need!

Horsepower sadly does not add up when adding parts it just helps with it all and you might see a bit better hp. But from my experience intakes really dont give power to the car compared to a stock system with a drop in and tuned.

Probably close, but no guarantees. We have achieved mid 170's on N/A cars running ACN91.

I have a question, we are having some tuning problems down in Puerto Rico...

Car Setups, Exhaust (diferents, Tomei, Perrin, ect) Drop in or injen, Downpipe, Headers, Front pipe, ect, ect all the mods that can be done even the intake blocks... tuners here are getting 170whp on mustang Dyno... is that all that we can achieve with all the mods that we can buy currently for NA? We are tune for 93 octanes and still on the 170s in mustang should be 180s on dynojet we need to go and check but no 190s thats what we want... please give us some options!

How hard is a remote tuning with you guys, rent a dyno here for how many hours, ecuteck cable, what else?

Thanks!

Dont get hung up on numbers! The dyno is only a tool to monitor changes. The track will be the right place to make a decent power estimate. Plus Puerto rico is very hot and humid so these ecu's tend to dial it back with hot temperatures.

Correct don't get hung up on numbers. For example, the mustang we tune on reads a Stage 2 at about 170 and the exact same car on a dynojet will read about 200. We see about a 17% difference but as Jester stated look at 1/4 mile times.

Here is our Delicious Stage 2 Tune on E85. Not to slow... 13.58 @ 100.99 mph in hot and humid Texas. I have seen faster forced induction FRS's, but nothing NA....

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCFOM4fuWSM"]13.58 sec. Delicious Tuning and PPE Header N/A FRS Breaks 100mph in the 1/4 mi - YouTube[/ame]

We have seen a big difference in intake temps. The cooler the air you can get into the engine the more power you will make. A change of outside air temp of 10 degrees will equate to about 2-3 horsepower gain.

Cheers,
William Knose

What would 0-60 be at this stage? Stock is 6.2 seconds (manual transmission) 0-60, I think? http://www.zeroto60times.com/Scion-0-60-mph-Times.html

Ok, just found this thread... I see power is being made with a tune and header + mid-pipe. But here's my concern... where's the catalytic convertor? Aftermarket? Removed? Or stock?

A concern as not all of us plan on unloading our cars in 4 years.
