There are no wing holes in the factory trunk of the FRS.

HAHA, nothing that is configured in two banks of 2 (V4/H4) will sound or feel like a classic inline 6. But that is not to say that the BRZ/FRS is REALLY eager to spin smoothly all the way, and sound emanating from the Yamaha Musical Instruments hands with Subaru/Toyota resourced manufacturing, is something pretty invigorating. ALL I can say is that it sounds very different than a traditional Subaru Flat 4, and is as ideal an engine as best of inline fours of the past...

Now the wheels on the car is ENKEI MT-03 series, in bronze/gold, 18x7.5 and with about 35 offset, 100x5 pattern. (Something they had around from an old Subaru Impreza application, hastily put on the car for the event, as they picked up the car just 48 hours before)
So it seems like 18x7.5 with a 35 offset is good enough to be aligned with the fenders. I love the stance of those wheels. Now the only thing left is figuring out how low that car is because it's perfect to me.

Nice to see you here Moto that looked like a fun event, man- we won't likely be treated to an event like that on the east coast.

BUT... We will certainly have a meet and greet event for the Tri-state area guys within the next two months as people receive their cars. I can't yet decide where it should be... maybe the dealer will host an even for us? lol

I don't understand why Toyota screwed the lever action up as they got the paddle placement right (right side: upshift). In race cars with sequential shifters, you pull back for upshift - which makes sense if you think about it, you are accelerating hard and being thrown backwards so you are inclined to pull yourself forward - which upshifts you. Braking - you push forward to hold your seating position, thus a downshift by pushing forward.

Too bad you can't customize your shift pattern on the AT, but there would obviously be too many liability issues for Toyota to do that. Those of us who have driven cars using the correct pattern, or spent hours on racing simulations using a sequential shifter, are going to have a challenge with this thing. Luckily we can't blow up the engine or gearbox with a mis-shift!

Very cool event!

Toyota really went big on this one, getting Five Axis and Tein out there. I'm really becoming a fan of the dark blue; it's making my BRZ choice of color very difficult...

I'm not a fan of those NT-03s, they just look weird with such a flat face - rally car fitment.

You gotta love the West Coast. You just don't find that kind of enthusiasm here in the DC area. That picture of the DJs in the OP was just awesome! Cheers my West Coast brothers and sisters! :happy0180:

I agree. At my dealership, I had to buy my own Diet Coke! It really was just another easy sell for them.

WTF you had to buy your own drink at the dealers? Every dealer that I have gone to they always offer my wife and I some kind of drink, we always turn them down though.

I WANT MY CAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!.

And thanks for the pics Moto, and I think that I will print that write up and keep it in my car because I'm already getting BS for pre-ordering the AT.

The reason for the backwards +/- is famous, as Porsche had a patent on thier first sequential way back in the 80's. All resulting sequential became backwards since.

On the FRS, the shift lever up/down is electronically signaled and we are actually working on a kit to change that to Porsche direction, along with a new cover to change the label accordingly. Just a bit more patience, and I'll get that out to you next year.
