So if your sub's wiring has 2 RCA plugs, would you just buy a Y adapter?

Not on a home A/V receiver system, pre-amp out is just one RCA out, not sure if it's different for car audio.

Same here but I don't think it's necessary to have left and right channels though, I believe sub's (left and right) are always "mono" aka left isn't hitting while right is not, they always go together/ simultaneously. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Can't recall if this was covered but does this handle incoming calls over Bluetooth as well as stock head unit?

indeed - its a good price for what it is comparatively speaking. sure a n7 is cheaper - but as you said the sum of all parts gets damn close to this complete bolt in unit

My perspective, to put it another way is that 'the whole doesn't equal the sum of the parts' here. The 'whole' being the $533 pricetag and the 'parts' being the Ca-Fi package of tablet/amp/tuner/etc...

My main point of contention is the fact of how inexpensive a powerhouse like the N7 is (and that's even at full retail cost, not even considering how much less expensive it would be for similar specs direct to a manufacturer like Ca-Fi would be) as compared to the specs of the component part of the Ca-Fi "package" that is the tablet.

So, to reiterate and in my opinion and my perception of fair market value...$533 seems high for the overall package, when taking into consideration that one of the main components (the tablet) has sub-par specs.

...To be fair, I don't know what all costs are involved for Ca-Fi to put such a package together, what with all the components involved (amp, tuner, tablet, etc...) and licensing and such and I don't even know of any competing product to compare costs to. I'm going by my 'gut' feelings and my own threshold of what I'm willing to pay for such an item.

It is definitely to each his own.
I agree with you to a certain extent - but with I factor in my time to customize something to fit - and at that point this is significantly cheaper.

That said - a tablet install IS cool as hell when done right, and is great for the person that likes that sort of stuff. This is great for the person that likes a drop in easy to install stereo - that has all of the same (and arguably more) features.

I did read through your post a bit quick, so i apologize if i missed part of the message. No harm meant by it! Like i said before, I dont mean to bash those that want to go that route!

i'm ordering one of these. it better not suck.

i opted for the cellular modem and BT OBD reader when i ordered. mainly because if at a later point i decided i wanted to add either shipping would be another $59. Hopefully I can get it to tether reliably on my iPhone though so I won't need the modem.

I have had my hand in trigger for appradio 2/3 since I had my gs-r. For full mirroring to work with a Note 3 running kitkat it seems like a full time job to keep it running daily. The ease of install is tempting here. I know if I order appradio from crutchfield I get many added products for free to make sure everything fits. Also 60 day money back guarantee for $450. Are any added cables needed for 2014 FR-S with bespoke radio? I'm assuming there is no support if it doesn't work correct?
