Why would you say that? I was thinking of doing a white on mine? Care to elaborate, as I am not real familiar with plastidip. But I saw a few white plastidips online and they looked great

sun made it turn brown... and once it gets dirty (oil since my bimmer had a case of open hood syndrome every other week) there's no way to clean it.

It looked nice at first though.

Its actually 3 times the price of the dipping, 4-5 is a bit exaggerated. And personally I like the idea of plasti dip, Hey, I have even used it on one of my cars. But I have always felt nervous of the durability. I was always scared that I would take it to the car wash and they would treat it like real paint and rub it off and I have actually heard of that happening before. Thats why I favor wrapping, lasts up to 10 years and I never think to worry about it coming off.

Thats just my 2 cents anyway..

There's a lot if misconception like this about plasti dip. As long as u apply it right and do a good job, everything will be fine. If u don't, it'll come out like crap. Make sure whoever does it knows what they're doing.

Technically it is roughly 5 times more to wrap it than to dip it. The typical price I was quoted to get the car wrapped was $3,500. Where as getting it dipped was $650.

3500/650 = 5.385

I work for a wrapping company here in San Diego... I had mentioned we charge 2000 for a frs. Therefore 650 x 3 = 1950 ...

i have heard pretty much the same thing from a friend of mine who did matte white...

so applying glossifier on top will not really help, will it?

I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe glossifier would help.

that would be cool because i am starting to hate the pearly sheen of my car's exterior; even at night, it just looks "dirty" because it's essentially an off white...

just enough to make me go crazy

i picked up my fr-s 5 weeks ago, but haven't washed it once, haha...
[i usually wash my car once a week]

a good plasti-dip job with glossifier will run me about $800 and i just received a quote of $1500 from a vinyl wrapper...

i will do some more research and make my final decision after i get some exterior stuff installed...

Vinyl wrapping is usually a lot more than 1500 so I wouldn't be too convinced that he will do a good job.
