Not saying M3 is bad, or M4. They are all Bench Mark of the Japanese Manufacturers, similar to how Koreans Smart Phones are doing Bench Mark to Apple. That is a compliment, and all these Japanese Car Makers say so. They Bench Mark the Germans (M3, and Porsche). The 2015 STI Bench Mark the Porsche 911 Turbo, as Critics Reviews. Now, I do not want to believe in All Reviews. It just let me know how Capable the 2015 STI are. AWD by logic will grip better than any AWD or RWD Platforms, not saying you can not make one better than the other. It is by logic, the AWD is Easier to do so. Now, what I really meant when I said "15 STI will Spank the M3 ass" I just want the Op to know that it is very ridiculous when he compare a 25k vehicle (86) to the M2/3. I Dis-Like Bi-as reviews The 86 is just a simple platform, it does what it does. You just don't say "Oh, I have a MIATA, now I don't want an M2, I will wait and waste my money on an M3" That is BI-ASS If he is Bias, I can be Bias to the STI as well. Case in point. Truth is, you enjoy one car, it doesn't mean every body else will. |

The M1 beats the S3 in every Aspects. The M2 will just do better, and I am sorry to say, there is no way in HELL that an M2 doesn't feel as good as an 86.
Throw me an M2 and 86, I will just take M2 in a heart beat, no questions, no regret. |

What critics are these because they should probably be fired, haha. The 2015 STI won't perform anywhere near a Porsche 911 Turbo. It is a great car, but it is what it is. I appreciate all cars for what they are. If you want a $30k turbo car, then the STI is the car you should buy. If you want a $30k lightweight RWD sports car, then you buy a BRZ. If you want a $60k turbo German luxury sports coupe/sedan then you get the M3/M4. If you want a $150k turbo German luxury sports car, then you buy the Porsche 911 turbo. I don't believe in cars being hold over cars till you can afford a better car. Enjoy the car you own.

I totally agree with that. I don't ever take the STI hadling to Bench Mark the Porsche either. That is why I hate Bias critics But the Japanese Auto Makers have always looking up to German for Handling, and that s the fact |

I'm holding off for a 911. I like to dream that one day, I still won't be able to afford it. Maybe just pick up an old air cooled one? Ah, the maintenance cost.

Nice video. I'm sure the 2-series would make a good DD. They're too fat and modern for me, though. My next car will be something ~1,300lbs lighter than the M235i and without computers, I think.

You can get 996s with completely track-ready suspension setups etc for the same price as a new BRZ. Alternatively, used 997s are only ~$10k more than a new BRZ at this point, so you could "move up" to one of them and be quite happy as well. But yeah, air-cooled Porsches are not your friend if you're looking for a budget 911. The only ones that aren't gonna be super expensive are the mid-70's cars, and those ones have engines that like to burn up quickly, so you'd need to be very careful to find a good one and keep it maintained properly. |

Nice video review. A lot of folks on the German car forums I've seen are excited about the M235i, but it looks frumpy to me for some reason in your video. The 3500 lbs. weight is also a turn-off. I wish BMW made some lightweight, edgier cars in the sub-$40k category.

^ Sure did not look frumpy in person at the auto show. Bloody gorgeous - the only weakness I saw in its design were its slightly too large tailights, but it was a minor flaw.
The weight is an issue for me as well though - it weighs 900 lbs more than my current car and I fear that is going to be something I really notice on a test drive. Hell even the FRS felt a bit heavy to me. |
