I'm not really sure, perhaps the higher oil pressure helps regulate the VCT system a bit better. All I know is I had the dip pretty bad in the summer time when it was hot out. Sometimes the engine would die or shake pretty badly. I put in the GC and the issue has literally not happened since.

Motul 5W-20? Are they creating a custom oil for you?

IIRC Toyota 0w20SN KV at 100C is 8.54 and GC 0w30 is 8.65.
0w20 Amsoil and Motul 8100 KV at 100C are slightly higher at 8.8.
How is GC like a light 40 grade oil? What am I not understanding?
Teach me please

GC, which is actually BC now, is only available in 0W-30/0W-40. The KV at 100C for a 30 grade oil ranges from 9.3 cSt's - 12.5 and GC/BC comes in at 12.2. It also has a High Temp High Shear of at least 3.5.

I would run something more robust than both of those in a turbo. Maybe go with Dominator 5W-20.

wait...isnt dominator a racing oil? These are not compatible with street cars because they kill cats and dont have detergents in them... Yes I have a catalytic converter with my turbo . Environment conscious event though it might all be in my head
