The seat bottom is not an issue...it's the driver's back. I've always been a thin person...feel sorry for the more insulated folks... would be good not to assume a person's physical size versus what is perceived from several who have commented about the Alcantara backing. BTW, when folks say leather...does the Limited have real leather or is this synthetic... doesn't feel like the same leather I had with my Z4M. Feels worse quality. |

Premium seat materials are great but for the amount I drive it is my opinion that the best material is the cloth the comes in the premium. I think I have vacuum my seats once in the more than 1 year I have had the car. I don't even shampoo my hair, fuk shampooing my seats

Nice. I honestly had no idea, despite a fair amount of research into the black interior conversion (I've done it, came in around $200). Man, it's like the Limited cost me $100 more than first thought.

I bought the Limited for one reason and one reason only - heated seats (North East here). Everything else came as a bonus. With that said though, I am getting to like so much the keyless entry and engine start feature that already wonder how I ever lived without it. And I've had the car for just over two weeks only. Here is the main thing with the Limited that makes your life easier every day, many times per day - the keyless entry.
You need not click your door open, just reach for it and the car opens it instantly as long as the key is with you (in pocket, bag, doesn't matter where). The car has half a dozen sensors and always knows whether the key is inside or outside the car, whether it is next to the left door, to the right or by the trunk. It will not allow you to lock the doors from the outside if the key is inside. You don't need to take the key out of your pocket to open the doors or the trunk - just reach for the door handles or push the trunk button while having the key somewhere on you and it opens immediately. This is just awesome, trust me. Then the car locking - with the key somewhere with you, just touch with your hand (even worked while I had leather gloves on) either of the door handles, left or right it doesn't matter, and car locks both doors. Fog lights are also cool feature, though they can only be turned on when the headlights are on. And the seats are great too, just to look at them, no question. My car also came loaded with the diffuser and the compass mirror (dealer had them already installed) for which I don't particularly care (though the diffuser is supposed be beneficial), both for the obscene amount of money ($900) but I bought the car for two reasons - it is Galaxy blue the color I wanted and the dealer knocked off 3K from the price (yeah baby, 2013 model clearance). So my more than fully loaded Limited cost me 26,440, and that is FRS price. Anyhow, I think the Limited's features are well worth it with the keyless entry leading the way, such a convenience. One more thing - it is so smart, when two people are approaching the car from both sides it only opens the door that the person carrying the key reaches for. Well executed, very effective and never fails to impress others, it is worth it. Villy |

I preordered mine so i got to chose what I wanted. I went with the premium mostly because the only thing I really wanted was HIDs (on both) and fog lights (added as an option)...the push to start is fun but I didn't really need/want it for me. So the price difference was about...1.6K because of the fog lights.
Also, some of the things I just didn't want to pay for if I knew I wanted to replace it. Like, I really don't care for the stock spoiler... and we were thinking of replacing the seats later anyway so I didn't really want to pay for them (although we could probably sell them when we replaced them...). I don't think the weight differences is significant between the two... I would say the limiteds are definately more popular...If i see a BRZ out it is almost always a limited. |

I like how dome lights up for me as I walk up to her in the dark. That is cool.

Yes, that is another nifty feature of the keyless entry - as you walk by the car with the key on you, the car lights up the dome light inside as to tell you 'here I am', and turns it off once you walk 5-10 ft away.

Premium vs. Limited?
Quote:
If I had to guess, the leather-looking parts of the front seats are probably "genuine leather**," but the back of the front seats is probably vinyl. I'd guess the back seats are completely Alcantara/Vinyl. *If you've ever had a belt that warps and does not maintain its shape, it is not full grain leather. If you've ever had a wallet or a sofa where the "leather" chips off, it's bonded leather. ** Genuine leather is a grade of leather. It is mid-low tier on the leather scale in terms of quality, but better than bonded leather. |

It's leather trimmed on the bolsters & Alcantara on the seat & seat back.
My sti premium had the same apolstering, and I loved it. Love it even more now in the BRZ with its much better designed seats. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Since it appears that this is your first car or your first new car and based upon your last comment, I suggest you save the money and go with the Premium. The money you save plus interest or capital gain will be those dollars you should be able to spend on your next car.
If you buy the Premium and are totally satisfied with it, you will have that great satisfaction that you saved your money. Upon reviewing all the above thread comments on seat design and materials, you should see the confusion and varied preferences. For this reason: go the less-cost route..
