Thanks for the pictures! Now I know my Galaxy Nexus can fit in the centre console/cubby.

I pulled out that foam disc to get a good look at it thinking maybe that's the case, but then I figured it'd make changing a tire a PITA and that solution would be too outside the box (pun!) for OEM. But if there's precedent, then maybe that's it? It wouldn't be a very big subwoofer.

Also note there's a little box on the drivers side below the passenger seat with what appear to to be audio wiring harnesses. I didn't get a close up shot showing the wiring, but you can see the box (perhaps an amp) in the post showing the spare in the trunk. Here's a cropped version:

I posted that first link. I was only speculating about its location because the Impreza sub goes in the alcove or under the seat. After seeing the BRZ in person, I'm confident it won't fit under the seat. Perhaps it could go in the driver side alcove (with wiring running from the box pictured above) if they relocated the tools on one side, used a different floor cover, and used a smaller sub.

Loving both blues!
I'm guessing they will make a custom sub-box specifically for the BRZ? Still on the fence if I really want a sub or not since most audio systems are ok for my taste. But I've always wished for a bit more bass.

Deslock, I love you man! You measured every single thing I was interested in. My Galaxy S II should fit nicely in that cubby. The S2000 is also my favorite shifter ever and I haven't typically been a fan of Subarus but this sounds great. 3.5 inch throw is perfect. I own a 1990 Miata and it has my second favorite shifter of all time (I like it better than the NB/NC). I'm also 5'9.5 so the seating example was ideal for me. Happy you listened to the audio, I was curious about the low end and I'll also get a woofer.

56 Inch trunk = 142cm... so if I put my 163cm carving skis on a 45 degree angle I won't even need to put them between the seats. I love this car.

I'm taking it skiing

Is it bad that I'm already thinking of trashing the spare tire and jack/tools as soon as I get the car to save ~25lbs?

I'll answer my own question: yes.

I have been waiting for sizing info like this. THANK YOU! I'm busting out the tape measure when I get home and comparing it to my trunk space.

I'm going to live in denial of those numbers until I see it in writing on Subaru's web site. 22/30 is too low with premium fuel prices in Canada.

Do you have a source? I don't see it on fueleconomy.gov yet.

It was in a dealership brochure listing specs, colors, etc. There are images of that brochure floating around on the forum, but I can't go looking for them right now. The numbers quoted were the ones in the brochure listed as "EPA Estimates."

The brochure claims that this is official EPA estimate. I'm just going to continue to hope it's wrong.

Good enough, thanks. I'll stick with those numbers for now, I'm quite happy with them.

^^no_name, thanks for the image.
