Yeah getting in and out of it was a total bitch. Wish I'd gotten to ride in it! Even with its lack of cup holders and visibility out the back.

We did 250 miles that day. Good times. I did some mods that made it quieter since.

Because of the wide sills/tub? I'm starting to have a hard time getting in and out of my FR-S. I might be getting old now

Its a tiny car with a tiny opening.

Its like trying to sit in your bathtub through an opening the size of a car window.

Im a small 5'-7" asian guy and it was a bit of a challenge getting inside an Elise, trying to learn and figure out the "lotus position" for ingress/egress. Its not that bad once your actually inside though.

An FRS/86/BRZ is super easy in comparison.

I have cup holders. Next time I'm in SJ with it you can have a ride. If California ever opens.

Elise is easier than an Exige because top comes off. A twin is like getting out of a towncar in comparison.

The increasing girth of most westerners is probably why all cars in general, including sportscars, keep increasing in size and weight. It’s disheartening. Smaller and lighter makes everything better in automotive engineering; acceleration, cornering, braking, reduced cost of consumables etc. I love that Lotus have kept that ethos alive. I just hope they keep it when they replace the Elise/Exige/Evora with the rumoured new models in future.

I have been fortunate to have owned as well as driven several different lotus models including Sevens, Europas, Elans and Elise. If you ever have the chance to get into one, TAKE IT!
Here in the Great White (wet) North we did get a few V6 Cup cars for closed course use only. Fun getting in and out with a cage.
