Garages haven't stopped people from stealing some Hondas either. I've seen a handful of people who have gotten up in the morning, got ready for work and walked into their garage to find it's door open and their ITR missing...

To further add to this, the thieves that truly want to steal your car do NOT want rare cars. They want common cars. Common cars mean a market for parts so they can be quickly unloaded. Common cars also blend in more and are harder to find.

A rare car like the BRZ means they can't part it out because parts won't be needed as much. And they can't sell the car because it'll stand out. Park a Ferrari and a Civic in a bad neighborhood and you'll get slashed tires on the Ferrari, but the Civic won't be there in the morning.

I disagree, at least in the case of Hondas.

The ITR has lower numbers during it's entire 4 year US run than the BRZ will have in it's first 7 months, yet percentage wise, it's probably the most stolen honda ever (percentage wise meaning the number of cars produced compared to the number with stolen info on carfax/autocheck).

The key is whether or not the PARTS can be used elsewhere and of course whether or not people consider them an improvement.. that's probably where we will benefit as most Subaru people don't want a 200HP NA engine

Didn't say it wasn't possible but it attracts attention (unlike an alarm) from normal people and police so it's a constant visual deterrent even after the theft occurs.

Well I have have the phone in the dash under everything, so I can program it to record everything up until the the battery dies in the phone by which time I could contact the police of there location. A fast easy way of making this system is leaving a phone in the car since there is literally an app for that xD

I've heard stories of people with tracking devices saw where the car was going, contacted the police, but the police didn't do anything and they watched the car passing the border to another country.
