Now that I have a set of pretty wheels, I would have to go for something performance oriented, most likely RPF1's. They are a heavier than the stock setup by about 4 pounds. It is noticeable on acceleration. My goal would be these with cheap tires, and a set of RPF1's (17x8 235/45 RS3) for performance needs. I have cheap tires now and sliding around isn't an issue.

What tires and how "cheap" are we talking? Also, is performance effected that greatly you almost regret it? I did the same heavy setup on my TDI and regretted it. Lost about 4mpg in the process as well.

Sailun Altrezzo $463 for the set

Do I regret them, no because they look so damn good (IMHO).

Cleaning them is a pain in the ass but worth it. On the topic of cleaning, they are either clean or dirty. The dirty actually doesn't look bad. It's the in between phase that looks nasty.

They do not hurt enough for me to regret them. I still keep up with all the other cars in my class. I regret the tires more than anything else.

Regarding the mpg thing. I've honestly never cared to notice. I cruise at barely any throttle during the day and max it at night.
