I'm still trying to decide between the FR-S & BRZ. If i can change the silver dash for a black scion or toyota dash i might go BRZ.
If i go BRZ i'll probably go sterling silver. The scion silver is too dark for my taste but the suby one is the right shade. It's also a metallic paint which i like.

you 100% sure? the pics i've seen of the scion look like it's a darker shade, almost a gray.

Toyota colors in Japan are the same color codes as the Subaru colors in Japan. Color palettes offered here are identical to Japanese color palettes. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm 99.9% willing to bet $5 on it.

You can but as said before it's actually quite a hassle.
Generally you can't finance. I don't have the cash to buy the car outright. I mean I could if I cashed out my savings and maxed my line of credit but, ugh, that's how people get into trouble and even though I want the car I don't want it THAT bad. Even so, lets say I could get financing I'd still need to pay taxes (HST, 12%) when I brought the car over, pay duty, pay to get it checked here to make sure it complies with Canadian laws (have to do this even if it's new and they know it does comply perfectly). Generally Canadian laws are a bit more strict when it comes to vehicle safety so sometimes the Canadian and American cars are a bit different because of this. And because of that difference then I'd have to pay for any modifications necessary to bring it up to code. And... if that wasn't enough, if something went wrong and I had to get warranty work done, I need to pay Subaru Canada to do the work and Subaru of America reimburses me. But they would only reimburse me what they think the job should've cost (if less than the amount I was charged). And even with that I'm probably forgetting some things. It would probably work out to cheaper if I imported a car, and I'd get the colour I wanted, but then again things like it being in miles and having to convert it to kilometers... Blah, just a pain in the ass unless you're saving a LOT of money. I could probably wait a year and save 5% tax when HST gets split back into GST/PST but meh... $1500 is a decent chunk of change but I'm not sure it's worth waiting a year. Guess we'll see how it all plays out. |

Is this true?? To be perfectly honest...I voted GBS before I placed a pre-order. But today I went ahead and placed the pre-order. I can't wait. I thought it was similar to my brothers Spectra blue mica Toyota Celica but now hearing that it's got purple in it, my internet boner grew even longer.

I also decided on the WRB, as it's the most delicious color of the car. It actually made me decide to leave the FR-S as my first choice, once I saw a few more angles of it. Once I had decided on BRZ, I also figured I may as well spring for the limited and think of it more as my daily driver.
If I ever want to go out and relive the dorifto fun of high school, I can always pick up a 240SX that's about the same age as I was back then. Plus it's always more fun to push your whip to the limit when it doesn't risk your ability to make it to work :P |
