I saw no indication from Paul or OP that the cosworth engine was an EJ series. It was listed as "FT86 Cosworth Engine". Which is not the same as "Cosworth engine in FT86". Watch the english.

People who are coming in here for the first time will think its an Cosworth FA20 engine. (of course this is not the case) So I put up that "CSI" photo to ensure the public this engine is not FA20 but EJ25. So any confusion can be averted

This is very important for some builders considering RWD impreza conversions. or BRZ/FRS builders considering AWD conversions. While I also got this confirmation from Greddy, its also nice to see that AVO also confirms this fact. Thanks again Paul.

Okay, "The engine going in is obviously an EJ, but after WoW queried it not being an FA20 Paul explained why it had to be an EJ, then the whinging about it not being an FA20 continued".

Better?

Well, that sucks.

Is the bellhousing bolted on or cast as part of the tranny case?

I believe it's cast, or they wouldn't be going the Hollinger route. Well, they may be doing it that way anyways, given that the transmission will get a beating that even a dead horse couldn't take.

moving right along...

I do agree that this thread is interesting and do have respect for someone doing a build that I myself would never be able to pull off without contracting out. What I don't appreciate is being called names by some guy on a forum.

I didnt know that this was going to be a purpose built competition car, so it seemed logical to ask why choose another engine over the FA20 in terms of aftermarket development. Goodluck with your build AVO.

I'm sure if you want to buy your own race team, you could then make the decision to spend time and money developing whatever you want.

Until then, appreciate the time taken to provide these updates, the money that's going into it and whinge elsewhere .. or you might just chase away an interesting contributor.

This forum certainly can't afford to do that.

How about we all stop whinging and trying to make our points and get on topic again?
This is an interesting build and it will be interesting to see how this and Orido's v8 line up against each other

Hey guys,

Sorry about calling it a fa20 cosworth engine...I try to snag the pics off of Facebook while I'm at work so I didn't have much time to investigate if it was a fa engine...either I'm so happy to be the op of this thread and very happy that Paul has adopted it as an official thread for their build...I dunno about you guys but I feel like I am somehow a part of this build..and thats good enough for me...can't wait to see this thing in action...

Also Paul as you update the pictures I will edit them into my first post so members don't have to search fhe thread for them.....and could you please record the first start up that would be epic

Damn, EJ swap just got a lot more exclusive than I thought.

However, does that mean the 2URGSE will line up? It is the ISF transmission after all... I'm guessing aside from custom mounts it should be easier than EJ.
