melbourne was definately a very good race. as for vettel...too bad. by the time red bull gets their shit together, ferrari, mcleran and mercedes and maybe even renault will be right on pace with them. while they fix mechanicals the other are working on aerodynamics and will close whatever gap there is. As for the new teams..six to ten secs of pace thats a big gap hopfully the figure something out and start surprising us.

if you guys remember, before Bahrain Jarno Trulli said that Lotus hopes to be competitive in about 3 years. i don't think any of the new teams are going to be close to the front runners for at least half the season. maybe at the end of this season they'll get within 2-3 seconds...

well with the merc engine of course force india are gonna have the power to keep up with the big 4 they've been in the comp for what 3 years now(maybe 2)? thats how long lotus thinks it'll take to be competitive so think in three years time how exciting the comp will be with the new teams being able to keep up(providing that they dont drop out before then).

wouldve liked to see some rain tho wouldve changed the whole look of the race.

when does everyone get to watch it is it live in your countries because in australia its not live its delayed till 11pm on a sunday night and we dont even get to see the qualifying on the saturday at all just the race. pisses me off

The race was only entertaining because 3 f the 6 fastest cars started from the back of the grid. Thank God it rained in qually.

Some excellent drives were put down, I can't believe Ferrari was so fucking thick this weekend. who the hell is running the pit wall?
I wonder what the hell they are up too, Alonso's engine blew, I haven' seen an engine blow for the last 2 seasons..... so much for an engine freeze..

And speaking of which, whats with the unreliability? 6 cars out before 20 laps. Disgraceful.

I'm a Williams Man at heart, but I miss Toyota F1.

I'm on the east coast in the US, and the only channel that actually covers F1 is Speed Channel. They cover the Second Friday Practice, Qualifying, and the Race live. We miss out on the first and third practice. The last two years or so sometime in the summer they only cover the second practice and qualifying live before handing the race over to Fox to show it taped and in a more prime time slot in the afternoon. I hate it when they do that cause then i have to watch the race on my computer live. This past weekends race looked like this for us on the east coast: Friday practice 2, 2am-330am Friday morning, qualifying, 4am-530am Saturday morning, race 4am-6am Sunday morning with them reshowing the race taped at 12pm-2pm.

Hey is anyone on f1zone.net? I only really get on there to be part of the F1 predictions league now that Kimi took the 2010 season off to do some dirt driving in the WRC. You guys should check it out, they have a pretty healthy forum and lots of videos and pics.

i also really miss Toyota being in F1.

i think there would have been good hard racing if the fastest guys started anywhere together. i think the commentators hit the nail on the head: now that the drivers know the limits of the tires and brakes better, they're going to push harder and we're going to see better racing as the season progresses. also, the cars "should" become more equal, so it's all up to the driver.

and personally, i think Alonso is one of the best. setting fast lap times with no engine braking and dropping out of gear is a hell of a feat! the greatest drivers can drive anything fast. it's relatively easy to drive a fast car fast... it's like when Schumacher had a gearbox failure and could only drive in 5th (i think) many years ago. his lap times only slowed by something like 1.5 seconds. incredible.
