It isn't infected with cheap ass LED's and it suits the curves of the car pretty nicely.

It suits the stance scene quite nicely.

Just don't like that wing...
Sigh..the Blitz front and rear look amazing, the LEDs on the front would not be installed on my car, they are bolt on, as for the rear...well I like it way more than anything Ive seen. As for the rocket bunny "flowing" well I guess thats where I disagree. It looks like tacky bolted on plastic pieces...more like Jeep wrangler fender flares than anything.

After IFO in Tuscon today I am pretty jaded with the car show scene, 1st and second best Scions were RB kits just goes to show that you can slap an RB kit on your car and regardless if you have any other mods you have a better shot at winning a show than without. My car is hardly stock exterior wise, but since I dont have a bolted on plastic widebody kit, the fact that I have way more done to the car is a moot point.

I will not be sore loser, and congratulations are in order for Stay Crushing and Goomba James...1st and 2nd respectively. To be honest the show had very few cars that I think are show quality, but IFO is way more laid back and gives out tons of trophies. I like the atmosphere but I think the judging is inconsistent or at least not consistent across classes. It is what it is and its a bunch of fun in hindsight, so I do look forward to the next one although my expectations are lower.

Anyways, next show I have planned to go is All Toyotafest in LBC and another IFO in Vegas.

Car shows are never fair, most are rigged. At least here in the New York.

IFO events do have a peculiar judging system but at least a system is in place and event logistics are executed. It's especially laidback in the Midwest. The twins have good chances to win over here. At IFO Topeka last summer, I had originally planned to park in the spectator lot til my FR-S buddy convinced me to pay an additional $8 for registration as a contestant. So I figured what the hell, I don't want door dings plus I can better monitor my car that way. We each drove home with trophies lol.

If you have to list your "all season trunk tray" in the mod list, you aren't going to win. Sorry, but at big events it takes more than basic stuff.

If you would take the time to read you would know this is a build in progress. I've listed everything I've done to my car currently ( yes that includes my trunk tray). Besides I don't have anything in the trunk, so it won't be open at shows.

Agree with others it's going to depend on your competition...an oem car with a sick paintjob or custom interior can win over performance mods anytime in shows where the public gets a vote slip. If there are women/children never underestimate the power of a cute stuffed animal on the rear deck. For those attending the show to be ultra-nosey you'll want plate mirror underneath or a picture board of your build. If you don't want to put the brand decals on your door make a small lexan sign to stand in front of the door/front fender.

Dude, I'm not knocking you - I totally understand builds and budgets. I'm just saying that until you get to a level where you are comfortable leaving the small stuff (LEDs, trunk liners, etc) off of your mod list, you won't win on that stage. Maybe smaller car shows, but not anything like NOPI or the other big shows. Nothing wrong with that, either, but it takes a lot to win a big car show...tens of thousands of dollars of parts, paint, and work.

Here's something else that might help you. A score sheet, granted not all car shows use this but it is important have a clue on what you will be judged on. Just keeping your car nice and clea will help you out. Also, if you take the time, you can make a billboard type display with all your mods so they can read and then go look. Just a couple of things that I learned long ago, not sure if they still apply.

coming from someone who has won just about every major VW show in the country, dont waste your time. after 5 years of going at it i finally stopped caring and now im having the best time ever actually driving that car. I have already determined that the fr-s will never show at an event. the driving experience is the most important part of it. screw spending hours upon hours cleaning and sitting around all day to be judged. the only good that came out of it was 2 magazine full features. the rest is all forgettable now that its over.

@L3P47 - go easy on the coloured hoses and wire covers under the hood. I won 1, 2 & 3 places at Carlisle PA many time with my 05 Corolla over the years- it certainly was show not go. I stuck with more subtle mods ( painted headlights, rarer stuff like Thailand led tails, power folding mirrors and k-sport co's) and judges liked it
My FR-S will be along the same lines and I hope it is appreciated this year and wins something at Carlisle in May
I like the road trip, the scene and the whole car show experience - winning a small trophy is just an added bonus
Good luck and have fun at the shows!
