At first I didn't really care for the rear, but after the live shots, the whole package grew on me and it looks sick. I probably would replace the exhaust, but I want everything there....just in black.

"A first for Toyota. By putting a spacer in the door striker, the amount of play is reduced in the opening. This rduces play in the body during cornering, increasing body rigidity." How much does it reduce who knows but it must be enough if a Toyota engineer took the time to develop it and get it to production.

Too bad they didn't have a better photog on the track for those shots. They're pretty weak. I mean I was free that day...

are these aftermarket parts that we have to put on ourselves or will the dealership take care of everything as far as installing the accessories?

Either, just like how TRD or any type of part is for that matter. Get overcharged at a dealer or do it yourself or at a local shop and save $

This is a push start switch, not a push start system. This is simply for the JDM and Euro spec models that already have the push button system. This allows you to change the stock push button to a red TRD button. It looks like those of us in North America is out of luck in regards to push start.

That 'door stabiliser' is weird... When I first heard about it I assumed it would be some sort of brace bar which would pick up on the door hinge points. But a different door striker?! Come on Toyota, this is a dress up part- not performance. The gt86s body should be pretty damn stiff already given the hard roof and lack of a hatchback boot(trunk)... This is going to make no measurable difference! Love the body kit, not sold on the wheels though. Think I'll get some 17" volks

Just like any other "in house tuner", the TRD stuff is going to be "mild aftermarket" upgrades. You know you are going to get good quality and fit on these items and retain a relatively stock demeanor.
Only time I would buy this stuff would be if they offered a TRD edition or just pile them on as options when you buy the car (might as well roll it into your monthly payment). If i already have the car i'd be hard pressed go back and buy these type of parts since you can get probably get higher performance parts for cheaper elsewhere.... but then some people are really into that TRD BLING |

I haven't read the thread, so...excuse me.
Am I the only one that thinks 6/4pot monoblock calipers with 355/345 disks is completely and utterly excessive? The 2012 STI weighs 3348lbs and has 305hp (source) and comes with 326/316mm disks... this car at ~2700lbs and ~200hp does NOT need 355/345 disks. |
