Would I run these? Not unless I did the calcs for the bias. But if the bias isn't shifted negatively, I don't see how there's any reason they should fail compared to using them on a WRX. Cheers Nathan |

Referring to Wilwood's post? It sounds like marketing bullshit. Tire compound has more to do with braking than tire diameter...

This has to be the most asinine thread I've ever seen. The FRS/BRZ uses the same brakes as the 08 WRX. So naturally a user purchases a wilwood kit for an 08 WRX. People lose their shit and a wilwood rep comes in here and specifically says they will fail if tracked.
This doesn't make any sense. People are tracking their car with stock brakes and upgraded fluids and they aren't out right failing. How on earth could a wilwood kit be that shitty that it's only marginally better than stock? Wilwood is just trying to scare everyone with a BRZ or FRS into buying "86" designed rotors and calipers. I bet most people, myself included, don't track their car hard enough for these to fail. If you're that scared of the heat run brake ducts. I'm just going to keep face palming. |

![]() Most kits use a 28mm thick rotor, and 16mm pad. The Essex "Sprint" kit uses a 32mm thick rotor and 21mm pads. Are there published specs for the Wilwood?

^^^ yep.. thats why the personal interest.....Trust me I had these researched LONG before I was able to purchase them.. just didn't realize the rotors were thinner than stock by 1.5 mm.. everything else would have worked according to the rules.

Looks like the 6pot moves bias even further rearward, with 12.88" rotors that are 1.1" thick.
