You would still need the Smartkey inside the cabin though... (Assuming the Smartkey is not already inside the vehicle)

The key must be present, but another member said a guy was able to take off for a 3-4 mile drive. either way your right and im wrong, it wouldnt work unless key is present *phew*

It all makes sense now. I asked because the new car I eventually choose might have push start...I was trying to pick up a new piece of info from what you replied with.

It works as I suspected, you forgot about the fob and realized the error yourself.

Yeah most cars shut down after throwing it in gear without the fob present or operate off a timer of some kind.
