I understand where your coming from. I've had my frs just over a month now and I'm worried sick every time I leave it I. A parking lot. But on the other hand I have lifetime warranty on the 3M coating so rock chops and shit are covered and I got full glass coverage on my insurance. Beside which I've noticed that the frs is one of thouse few lucky cars that has a good angle to deflect most rocks rather than take a chip. I live in Calgary and 95% of all windshields here are cracked and chopped but not mine. Yet.

I admit I was relieved when I got my first paint chip on the hood ( 2nd day of ownership )
After that, I worried less about road debris and just started enjoying the drive!

Don't sweat it! Drive it! And enjoy!

Couple layers of painters tape should do the trick. you don't have to "man up" and drive your car through debris just to prove you love driving your car. maintaining a good exterior is easy on the eyes and the resale value. worst case scenario is having to explain the blue tape to bystanders during gas fill ups.

Wow there's a lot of central FL users on here. I'm not an FRS owner yet but will be soon and also reside in central FL..

Just drive it, you will be fine. 75 is usually clear. I made the drive to Orlando/Keystone Heights from Atlanta and then back to Atlanta over the Thanksgiving holiday. You will be fine.

If you haven't completed the 1,000 mile break-in period you might want to take US Hwy 441 to avoid driving at a steady speed for prolonged periods as per the the owner's manual break-in recommendations. That is something you can do something about.

Living in Central Florida with in-laws in South Carolina I travel some of those same roads for the holidays. Please spare me the disturbing sight of your FR-S festooned with blue painter's tape. Thanks.

Not that I was trying to spite you, but an Argento FR-S passed me up when I got on 75N in Ocala around 730-800 PM last Friday...was that you?

I've been out of town since 12/20 so it wasn't me. A coworker already spotted my "Evil Twin" in another Argento FRS in Ocala. It may have been them, otherwise it could be a car thief as I only assume mine is still sitting in my garage waiting for me to return home.

Must have been your evil twin! He/she was being tailed by a Jetta weaving in and out of traffic. Not sure if they were together or the Jetta thought he saw a unicorn....

Actually, one of my staff smoked him from a redlight with his Civic si. It looks like my evil twin has a future of disappointing street racing.
