yup... sports car with auto tranny?
you will learn pretty fast. take the car to an empty parking lot. throw it into first gear and try to start it as many times as you can without stalling. once you get going break and then do it again. starting it will be the hardest part. |

, i built it myself in auto class for 3 years in high school (sponsored build up). i sold that and bought an s2000 and turbo'ed it with the money. both MT's and both far from stock. 6mt is the way to go in the FRS/BRZ, its a sports car, nice short throws and an easy clutch, definitely faster than the slush box. it takes a day of driving around starting and stopping to get the hang of an MT. no need for lessons, you learn by doing it not having someone show you. get the MT and you'll never want an auto ever

First of all, congratulations on your new vehicle! Be careful with it and take care of it! Watch where you park, especially in high school parking lots. You'll literally be the center of attention at school now lol.
Secondly, an automatic transmission does not belong in a sports car such as this one. Just my 2 cents. Cheers!

i say go with a manual. when i was 18, my first car was a manual (WRX) and while it took me a while to get used to it, i think it was worth having. better milage, because you can go to a higher gear if you're on a long flat road (6th gear doing 40? what? do that in the mini, get about 50 mpg!), and it will make you more "in tune" with your vehicle. besides, it'll give you something to do with your right hand

Get the car you can/want to drive. If you follow whats on the greater opinion on this forum is you'll get a manual. Not saying that you'd be dissapointed, but you should make the decision for yourself. You're the one driving your car not the forum members. Just my two cents. |

I'm not going to spell out the joke you just set yourself up for
![]() And anyway, no matter the transmission, both hands belong on the wheel, except for shifting.

Now for the kid trying to decide on the transmission type I would go with a manual only because its a sports car and you have someone that can teach you how to drive. As just make sure you can financially afford 5-6 years of payments and not just one or two. Whatever your choice is I'm sure you wont regret it. Good luck |

to LOSE value with a "slush" box in it! it's stiil early,of course, but it's an even bet to be worth less over time with the "slush" in it! get the manual, learn it,and never look back! just sayin' |

Dude its a $27,000 car, when most of us sell it in 5-10 years its not going to be worth much anyways. Anyone buying this car expecting to get good money back after they drove it through hell and back is very stupid.
