generally but when you get into sports cars and especially imports the manuals are in greater demand so they tend to cost more also that extra little bit of cost over the auto, see's the younger peeps that aren't fully versed and confident go with the auto which is probably the safe choice for them

@buggy

when my friend was looking for a car a few months back i kept telling him to buy manual, as it would make the driving experience that much better. he told me the same thing, he had no car to practice on, but i kept bugging him. sure enough my nagging worked and he bought a manual even though he had never driven one before, he learned on the way home from the dealer.

obviously i helped him smooth out his technique afterwards but really he did most of the work himself. hills aren't all that bad either, i drop off and pick up my sister at a CC with service roads going up steep inclines 3 times a week. i'm sure you can find a quiet hill somewhere to practice on, just use the handbrake at first to gain confidence as you get better. you wont to learn be the first to learn on your own or the last, trust me.

^ thats the best option for buggy. If you want to learn, you gotta make the time. Get up REAL early when no ones drivig and find an empty parking lot and go from there. Work on the basics and dont be afraid to fail, its happened to the best of us.

Haha, well your friend actually has a friend to give some help and egg on. I'm kinda alone on this since well I don't think anyone around me really gives a crap about how a car performs. Most just notice the logo ~_~;

Yeah, if I want to learn, that's definitely true. I do put class and work above driving though :/

The main question you got to ask yourself is this, what is your purpose for buying this(any) car?
Do you need it to get from A to B, or do you want a DD/weekend car (alternate car to have fun in) with potential mods?

Answer those questions and you can take it from there.

What if..I want it to get me from A to B..
AND..a DD/weekend car? I've got..2 other cars, a truck, and a crotch rocket, but..I feel the need to have another car, especially a RWD, that Isn't a truck.

Hmm? well considering it'll be my only car... I hope it will take me from A to B o_O;

It will definitely be a DD, and yeah it'll be a weekend car as well. I don't plan to mod it, but I do want to drive down Highway 1 on the weekend and just enjoy the journey.

The tag at the top says "bringing the sport back to the car"
I'm really hoping that's not just marketing, and it's some not-too-subtle code for "sport-back", as in hatch.

I went with White Manual.

Hopefully the number of Automatic answers will be so low that they'll decide not to make them in auto :P
