I had my 2012 TC for 8 months before trading in for the frs. Less cargo room but soo much more fun.

You can always sell the TC later. Even if you kept it, i can already predict you will drive the FRS over the TC.

Note: maybe im crazy because i have 3 cars lol
never find a good reason to sell something that still works great. but that's me and you have the right thinking
There is an inherent cost in everything. Iff he has planned to buy an FR-S and he no longer would need the TC, then that TC costs an extra $210+ per month when he could trade it in and pay less per month for the new car.

Definitely more than "not costing anything." Even though he's not directly paying for the TC, it still affects his FR-S price.

I use an ipod for music so as long as I can hook that up to the bespoke, and make my song selections through the head unit instead of through the ipod, I'll be happy.

I'm just worried because I'm so pleased with the tc unit right now and I dont want bespoke to be a step backwards in terms of functionality.
I'm fairly certain there is an Android update in the works.

I've never used or seen a TC radio, but I imagine the BeSpoke would have all the necessary functionality you're looking for. I initially didn't want a BeSpoke because I don't use an iPod, but it was the only red FR-S in the area and I'll be damned if a radio stops me from buying a car. However, my girlfriend likes to use her iPod with it, so I'll note down some functionality (as far as music goes).

iPod:
  • Ability to browse by artist, song, and album
  • Access to your saved playlists
  • Shuffle through whole music library
  • All controlled by the head unit controls, not the iPod

Radio:
  • Browse by genre or radio station
  • 6 memory slots each for FM and AM
  • HD radio capable (does use 1 of your FM slots if you save a channel)
  • Displays song information

General:
  • Equalizer, subwoofer, etc. settings
  • Control exactly where the sound is centered (longitudinal and latitudinal)

The stock unit does it, I use my iPhone with it all the time!

Traded my 2010 RS 6 in as fast as possible for the RWD FR-S and I'd do it again in an instant. The tC was nice but the FR-S is a blast.

The TC stereo is the same Frs stereo. If you liked the functionality I would keep it

Your TC looks sexy, never owned one but i like the tc1 better than the tc2, to me the back of the tc2's are ugly.

I'm not having trouble because I consider the tc superior, or because i need the back seat space or whatever else you're suggesting.

It's mostly due to the fact that in 5 years I've never had any issues, and it's hard making the decision to give up a vehicle with no issues for an "unknown" 1st year vehicle.

Also, to update this thread, I've pretty much decided on getting the FR-S. Might as well get a fun car while I'm young and able (not married, no kids, etc)

Sir if you have the means, go for it. You only have so much time of this earth, why not enjoy yourself. What color are you hoping to get. Also the stock unit has most if not all the functionality you were looking for to control music etc..

I'm really curious how good the brand new TC is; mostly on track.

Went with firestorm. I've always had blue cars but after walking to my apartment parking lot and seeing 6 of the 7 cars lined up in front, being blue, I decided I'd mix it up for once.

Congrats then.

My 07 tC was rock solid from day one, 65k miles, which included 4 cross country (coast to coast) trips.....driven in nearly one sitting each time (with at least one 27+ hour session straight driving)....also loaded it onto the Amphibious Assault ship I commissioned, and sailed it around the world....before offloading it in California after the commissioning Ceremony.

While sentimental about the tC....3 months in my FR-S, and no regrets.
