I think it looks good. I would still buy the base model but more options the better!

I remember the Subaru World Rally team talking about how glad they were to switch from Sachs to BOS. They said the comfort of the Sachs was terrible and the performance wasn't all that great either.

Anyway, It looks like it has some Brembo brakes on there. They actually look custom and interestingly the tire width is still 215. So I wonder if they'll fit under the stock 17's... The BBS wheels are nice too but the sidewall for that tire size is probably too short for my liking.

I love everything but the wing. I'm not a wing person, myself. But all the other aero stuff, the wheels, and the brakes are awesome.

I love the aero, but id prefer a lower profile on the spoiler, theres no reason for myself to have that deck lid on that spoiler catch diffused air flow in that region. If anything id prefer a slippier configuration on the spoiler and opt for better downforce on the the undercarriage.

I'd hope to see OEM quality improvements on a "factory tuned" car. The STi WRX vs WRX, or the WRX vs Impreza, by way of example. To me that's a factory tune.

This looks like the rice of the day special when what I really want is:

You mean like the 370Z Nismo?

If it like that...

Save your money.
Buy the kit you want.
Buy KW V'3 coil overs
Get your own intake and CAT back.

Spend less

I know a lot of people don't like the kit, especially the wing. But i'm sorry, i am in love with this kit. I have not been this car horny for any other car-- it's just so gorgeous, and i have to have it!! I need it!

I've always had a strange attraction to the Nur Spec kit... Probably because the big wing screams TRD/RMM wing...

I'm pretty surprised that the wheels from the concept are actually being released though! I wonder how much they weigh...

We can safely presume, "too much."

I think it is subjective. RICE stands for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements, right? If so that means a lot of cars out there are ricers! In general RICE to me means it looks like crap, like so:

That car is over the top, and I think we can all agree that we ALL hate it. However with this Nur Spec Kit, some like it and some don't. Since the styling is subjective, it's not rice, but for some people it may not be nice. In a way it's like the R Magic body kit, some like it, some don't.

As for me, I like the look of the kit except for the huge wing. This kit would look perfect with a small duck tail wing like the Carsmo, Five Axis, or TRD.

if i recall correctly way back when prototype mules with camo were caught testing on the nur even before the final design of the car was officially unveiled, people spotted a truck with sachs parts parked next to the mule or something like that. then speculation started going around that the car might have sachs suspension stock. this explains it, we were seeing pics of them testing the factory tune 001 mule.

my personal preference is for a ducktail trunk spoiler as opposed to a huge tall spoiler as well, but one thing i can say is factory aero is highly functional. the TRD kit has already been proven in tests, and the front end and side skirts look very similar on this kit. the s2000 CR is a good example of factory aero, that kit is HIGHLY functional.

BTW, this isn't "rice." Making a car look better without adding speed does not equate to "rice." Never has, never will.
50hp would do it for me . 0hp does not do it. Spend money on making a car faster before you spend it on making it look like it can go fast. That's always been my rule. Otherwise you are just going to embarass yourself. Aero is not where they should be spending their money on this car, not until after they give it more power anyways. I would not be caught dead in this version of the car. Your personal car may have enough power to justify this kit, and that's fine. We're not talking about your car. We're talking about the 86 factory blah blah blah edition here.

So to recap, this aero kit looks great. On this version of the car with no power upgrades it's over the top.

They are BBS wheels so I'd think they're lightweight. TRD offers two 18" wheel models (forged and cast aluminum). Only one of those two are geared towards performance and fit with the TRD BBK - the forged ones. Seeing as these are 18" and fit with a BBK, I'd presume they are forged (lightweight).

This kit enhances aerodynamics; I recall it was tested on the Nurburgring. The side skirts have the same tapering shape along the bottom edge as my BRZ STI side skirts which are functional.

Just like the late Celica and Supra, this wing is positioned high for safety/visiblity with the midblade lining up with the bottom edge of the roof. The left and right ends even angle down at the same angle as the pagoda roof. From the OEM it's gotta be way up high like this or way down low like the stock or FiveAxis spoiler to clear the rear window. I wonder how all of you who hate on this wing would feel about a not-so-high wing that blocks your view out the rear window.

Toyota could have sacrificed some of these functionalities to make it look more conservative/appealing. But not in this case; it takes on Function > Form.
