I like the design, but I don't see why they would need to package a hybrid powertrain with it. If they put a four cylinder engine and keep the weight down then the gas mileage would be fine.

I would think if they did that then there wouldn't be an FT-86?

1- I don't believe for a second that the CR-Z generated more interest

2- I agree with you in agreeing with those comments.

3- However, I would not mind a hybrid MR-2 if it was executed right!

4- The market position for the MR-2 would have to be very carefully considered. Can't be so cheap as to compete with the FT, but it also can't be too expensive, because it is an impractical car. I don't want to see it die again. Lexus MR350 perhaps?

You like to list all of your responses..
I don't think it would be the same if they reintroduced this car. Obviously if it was a hybrid that's a huge change, but also with the point of price. IIRC it sat at the bottom of their sports car line at the time of the AW11 and SW20. With the FT now occupying that space where do they go? They could put it at the same price and since its MR, they'd have two chances at the price bracket.

Electric motors powering the front while gas motor turns the rear wheels sounds pretty good.
