FR-S Valve Spring safety recall Ħɞ||
By adjusted I assume you mean valve clearance. I didn’t bother reshimming. They were all still within spec though. More on the loose side than tight. If it was a simple process I would have improved the clearance though. I kind of wrote it off as the valve not seating well, engine being cold and dry and the fact that I was turning it over buy hand rather than by the starter. It was a big discrepancy though and it was all leaking past one intake valve. |

Yep! And a valve job consisted of a couple of gaskets and a whole two hours start to finish.

Let's see, you have one hand trying to hold the compression gauge in the spark plug hole tight - then with the other hand you are trying to turn over a cold, dry engine. Now, HOW could you get a false reading?? - ![]() Back in the day, it took me both hands to hold a compression gauge in a spark plug hole (on a 8:1 compression ratio engine) - ![]() (hesh up, @Tcoat , I was NOT a 98 pound weakling - I just weighed 98 pounds) humfrz |

I have threaded fittings on my compression and leak down gauges so that helps. |
