I appreciate your help more than you know man. So do you have any idea on what the labor costs would be to fix this? I will probably order a stage 2 clutch kit offline rather than replacing it with a stock one.

Cost is a huge issues especially because I just bought coilovers and my girlfriends present was expensive on top of everyone elses Christmas.

Just trying to figure out my best option here.

Depends on what they need to replace. Start at about $500 and go as far as $1,000.

Urgent help needed please!

All you need to drop the tranny is a floor jack and some jack stands. No other special tools are needed. I did mine very recently and it’s not that bad of a job. Because labor cost wasn’t a concern I didn’t even bother with the clutch. I did the $17 2017 TOB and called it a day. I’m at 84k and the original clutch is fine.

Depends on how bad the bearing went. If he is having to pull the pedal up with his foot he may have toasted the clutch.

But he says it drives fine after the TOB frees up (probably due to heat).

He has also smelled burning. The damage may be done even if it seems fine for now. I would not be optimistic.

If the TOB hangs right where the clutch is slipping then it’s going to smell. Sure you could gloss over the mating surface if you seriously abused it in this state. It’s hard to say without looking at it.

If it was me and doing my own labor I would do the TOB only. But that’s just me and I’m cheap. Hahaha

The clutch I am looking at buying is usually around $550 I can get it for $475 its an exedy stage 2.

If I can do it myself I would much rather do that, I have a jack and 4 jack stands that all go up pretty high I made sure I got the tallest ones I could, if I am going to replace the TOB and drop the tranny I would just rather replace everything while I am in there.

I just don't want to shell out a bunch of money for no reason, when it could be like a simple $100 fix.

Also I don't have a secondary car to drive so I am going to have to contact my insurance company and see if they can give me a rental.

OEM is good for stock or mild applications. No rattle or harsh driving

If it is the TOB I might as well upgrade the clutch and everything while they have everything taken apart since labor will be the most expensive part of this job. If I had a lift and stuff I would rather do it myself but I don't so I will paying a lot im sure.
That's what I should have done when my TOB went out. Paid $40 for a new one and $700 in labor.

So I could use my 4 jack stands and my car jack to drop the tranny?

How long did it take you?
