Somehow I'm not sure powered punji sticks are the answer.

For feral cats I hear Prestone works wonders. Barring that a live trap and a visit to the local animal shelter can offer greater degrees of plausible deniability.

Back-in-the-day, we found that wiring a car up with a Ford model "A" coil, took care of casual "touch-ers". A 12 gauge shotgun shell, filled with rock salt, took care of the really stupid ones......

Oddly enough, a coworker was telling me how he had to dodge shots of rock salt after t-p-ing one of his friends house in Louisiana 'back in the day'.

Worst I'd ever gotten was dings/scuffs on my doors on my old car from people lacking situational awareness or caring, and most of it happened so late in the car's life I couldn't be bothered to get upset. That said, if someone went and danced on my car like that I'd certainly be upset. Only really obvious one I saw walking up to the car was because my car was dirty, but there was this one spot on my passenger door that was sloppily wiped clean down to the paint because the person who dinged me tried to see if they could wipe away what they'd done. Oh, and one complete stranger drunk goth chick who apparently thought my rear bumper was a bench and put some claw mark looking gouges in my trunk lid with her studded belt. Couldn't tell you what possessed her to do that besides being drunk and uncaring.

Similar to what happened to the OP, a former co-worker of mine had a pretty well kept VW CC that he unfortunately parked once downtown in our state capitol, and after a night of some bar hopping came back to find someone had basically gone, on foot, up one side of his car and down the other. They walked up the hood, stomped some dents into it, stomped the windshield until they spiderwebbed it, stomped dents into the roof, and managed to get one into the trunk lid, too. Insurance covered it all, and the shop he brought it to really did a good job making it look like nothing ever happened. The only thing they couldn't totally eliminate for some reason was the trunk lid dent. There was always a big shallow dimple that you could see if you knew where to look from one side of the car.

Anyway, yes, some people are really just jerks, and don't want to let other people enjoy nice things that they may have actually worked to earn and enjoy.

Yep, my granddad always had a loaded double barreled 12 gauge shotgun beside the back door on the farm. One barrel was loaded with rock salt, the other barrel with 00 buck shot.

Not much got past him ......
