I would strongly recommend disconnecting the battery before doing any repairs or mods on something that is electrically powered or in the close vicinity of electrical wiring.

Check engine light does not come on but the airbag light does. I had to drive to Lowe's to grab a couple items with the airbag out. It's right behind my apartment so it wasn't a big deal.

Does the airbag light stay on if you put it back?

It goes away once everything is reinstalled. Super easy and no problems!
