Can we still bring the car to the dealership without the PDF? Or do we have to wait for the pdf to be released I'll be at 3 years of ownership next month and would prefer to get this fixed sooner than later lol.

You shouldn't have to, man. I'd go ahead and take it in. If anything, you can show them this thread.

Well looks like I'll be dropping another grand around 120,000 miles when my current (new) throwout bearing starts grinding itself to death. This part better be easily available for purchase. I don't want to buy a whole new clutch kit just for this weak link part.

Any lawyers in here? Would we have a case for class action lawsuit?

Before doing all that, I would go to a dealership and give them this information and let them know about your situation. If you're polite and cool with the adviser/ tech they will more often than not do you a favor with no expense from you. I would try and find a dealership that doesn't have high volume coming through the service shop every day. That way the techs aren't rushed and you can actually talk to them about what's going on.

Just got mine replaced under warranty, barely made that cutoff. Took the car in to get my seat cover replaced and mentioned the clutch squeak thinking that they would lube the part and be on my way. Got a call towards the end of the day saying they had just been given this TSB and ordered the part. Clutch squeak is now gone and my Monogram seats look factory fresh.

or what you can do is to remember the tsb number. The parts department can also pull the tsb number from the Toyota EPC.

assuming that the new part number for the release bearing is an upgraded part.. can anyone confirm that? Also for anyone wondering if this has made it to the Canadian market my service adviser got back to me and said they now have the tsb for it

I confirmed with my dealer that it is an updated part. Once I get the paperwork I can post up the part number if you want.

Hmm I never paid attention to any noise when I depress the clutch pedal. I will have to take a listen. I suggest if you hear the noise record it for backup if it doesn't make a noise when the dealer listens for it. Worked for me but my dealer is amazingly easy going.

So what if this is not fixed. Will there be long term issues?
