@cat94 If you want to avoid the overpriced buffing job, follow my advice.
Buy this buffing kit: PC7424XP, Meguiar's 5" buffing pads pack of 12, 5" backing plate, and a bottle of meguiar's correction compound. All pretty much inclusive in this kit for $330 except for the 12 pack of buffing wheels. http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-da-correction-kit.html After that, sell the kit for $200 or use it to detail your family's cars to make back the money, then sell it for profit. |

I've had great results with Sonax products from www.detailersdomain.com, and Phil, the owner, is very knowledgeable.

If your friend is willing to help and has the proper tools, polisher, pads and most importantly knowledge I would consider that option for cost savings alone, does he have a lot of experience with application of consumer based coating systems?. (Even on your own its not that hard of a thing to do with some knowledge and hard work.) I have found you can easily correct paint with a PC7424XP, I just picked another one up as a gift for someone for 92 dollars! I think easy you can purchase a consumer coating (they generally last 2-3 years), polish, pads and all necessary chemicals for under $250 including some wash buckets, grit guards and towels. Again please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have I am happy to help.

The quote was given only after speaking through the phone (they haven't seen the car yet). I described the "light swirls/scratches". Also, it's a small, reputable group so I wouldn't be surprised if their prices were a tad higher.
